And goose. You sure about selling the el cap? You have a one delay policy or what? I think the el cap and a crazy powerful digital delay is a perfect combo.
i bought it
definintely wont sell the el cap for a little while if i even do, will probably need to have a shootout and keep offloading more pedals, i think i wanna buy a minilogue and am feeling a bit weird lately about how much $ i have tied up in pedals

Question for amp people:
I have a beta lead, sunn sorado, rosac Malibu 77, and a Sovtek around here...outside of the rosac, they are all pretty dark. The Sovtek needs work and I think the beta lead needs a recap (b is starting to drop in volume and it gets darker the more I play)...
Looking for suggestions on old, pre-1985 (why not?), non-fender, 100 tube amp heads...basically how bright are things like plush, earth, etc? Or should I just go with the 5150 2x12 (I remember my friend's being brighter than my Sovtek). Kinda looking for a gigging amp (probably run a full stack like I used too) and something tonuse while I repair my beta lead and Sovtek. Or just fix the Sovtek before the beta lead breaks all the way and then fix that?
Or should I just go the speaker route and brighten things that way?
I don't doom, I don't drone, none of that stuff just looking for a loud amp with top end for abrasive crap.
It had just been a damn long time since I've played around with any amps outside of the few I have.
Random ramblings.

The 5150 is dictionary definition of "loud amp with abrasive top end", if I remember correctly.

I've got a Plush 1060-S which I pair with an old Kustom 2x15 cab. They're not overly bright. (Might be my cab choice though.) They're supposedly based on a Fender Twin or Showman circuit, but they're definitely not nearly as bright as a Fender. Good workhorse amps. Pretty nice response across the spectrum. If you find one for not too much $, you should grab it. I'd imagine similar Earth amps probably sound about the same.

That is what I remember too...just kinda making sure my memory is right (haven't heard one live in 10 years). It was the only modern amp I was considering.

I knew they were based on some fender (as are a lot of amps)...good to know! Good across the spectrum is fine with me too. I had a 2x15 peavy cab that really made things muddier and darker/bassier from my Sovtek.
The Sovtek thing...I haven't heard mine in 9 years and I was playing through a closed back carvin Steve vai cab or something with celestiins...it was loud but muddy as all hell. Maybe it was the cab? It will rise again someday (and if I ever find out who stole my fuse caps....). I used to run the boss mt2 as a pure treble boost just to compensate...
On the beta lead I keep bass and mids at like 3 or 4 and run treble at like 7-8. Sometimes I get the bass up to 5, but cut the mids more.
I guess on that note, speaker recommendations?
Thanks guys.

Squarp Pyramid is beautiful, but hard to learn. Maybe killed my GAS for any other sequencing, though. Time will tell. Might replace my ER-1 with an XD-5 or a RM50 or R-8m rack, amd just have analog and digital drum synths covered for days.

Has anyone seen the Softcore (by Squarewave) licensing page (Is this even a legitimate sale) ?

it's a shame it'd be the most expensive pedal i'd ever buy if i could indeed find the money to get one. it feels like every other reverb out there isn't really for me, the rm-1n sound hits home, in a way.
what'd you fellers sell to afford it? your soul? your grandma?
let us know in the comments below. don't forget to like and subscribe.
Maybe take a look at the Caroline meteore? It's like the RM-1ns little brother

Does anyone else follow panote09? He always has homemade noise synths and has been building for years.

JMT makes good stuff. Had a few of his things. He has upped his panel design lately but nice stuff from him.

Totally how I remembered it, was just reminding myself/looking for more exotic options...
New question:
maxon FX wrote:NOTE ON POWERING THE OSD-9 - this pedal’s voltage regulator IC requires a high inrush current of approximately 2000 mA upon startup. When using with a Power Brick such as the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+, this pedal should be connected to a high current power jack when possible.
If it is not possible to connect to a high current jack, you can power the OSD-9 by leaving a battery in the pedal. Upon initial start-up, unplug the external DC power input cable, engage the pedal, and then plug the DC power input cable back in – the pedal will now power up normally off the external power supply until you power down your pedalboard.
Anyway, does anyone actually do this? Does it make a difference? Most likely something to do with their switching system? A lot of the maxon 9 effects have that...any other companies say that and I just never noticed?
Osd-9 is a nice dist+ clone...sounds great and picked it up cheap locally.

Might trade a '65 bandmaster for a traynor yba-1? The bandmaster just isn't loud enough or distorted enough for the project I'm using it in. Would be run in stereo with a V4 on a 215.
Good idea? Bad idea??
Also does anyone have clips of the Meteore in a heavier setting than the knobs demo? Does it do harsh at all? I had an RM-1N and I kinda regret getting rid of it but the reverb was too intense and I mainly used it for the drone. The Meteore seems to have less overall decay time/be more manageable at short reverb times. Also any clips of it pushing other dirt? Particularly like an HM2?

I just got a '65 Princeton Reissue, yesterday. Holy fuck this thing sounds great! I was intent on a '68 Custom. But, after getting a Marshall Class 5, I was worried it might cover too much of the same territory. I decided the '65 would be a better fit between the Class 5 and my AC4. I feel confident, now, it was the right choice. Before getting the PRRI, I was already planning on changing to a 12" Cannabis Rex. However, it sounds so good with the C10R that's in there, I don't know that I need to.
