Just bought it. Worth it for Torchlight and SPAZ alone.

Re: The Video Game thread
So now that it's been out a while, what's everybody's opinions on Borderlands 2?
I'm enjoying it, but it does feel more like Borderlands 1.5 instead of a sequel that brings new gameplay mechanics and etc to the table; the game feels more like a total conversion-type mod for BL1 with some tweaks here and there.
I have a few minor quibbles too, like how zoom stat isn't on the gun cards anymore (they add elemental damage and chance, which is great, but get rid of scope zoom? And, no, the whole "oh just try it out" agument is total shit), silly weapon names, the backpack being limited to 27 and, of course, the fact that the PC port, while a lot better than that of the first Borderlands, is still lacking in some areas. For instance, why am I forced to have the crouch and change seat command mapped to the same key? Would like to change the viewmodel FOV, too. But yeah, maybe that's just us weird PC gamers and how we feel entitled to be able to tweak everything.
These quibbles aren't game-breaking in the least, but PC port aside, they feel like they're steps backward from the original game.
And man, no more exploding heads?
Don't get me wrong, it's still hella fun, especially with other people, but yeah.

Re: The Video Game thread
The environments aren't boring as fuck so I've managed to play it past the first few bosses, which is longer than BL1 made it.
The "chance" bonuses and stat boosts for weapons and class mods bug me because I don't know what my original stats are, so it kinda feels irrelevant to tell me that it improves my whatever by +2 or 6%. Some of those class mod stats don't even match up with anything in my skill trees, so what's the point?
I like Claptrap a lot more this time around, and I love the guns whose names are all horribly misspelled. Phaselock is way more fun than that invisible crap that interrupts the flow of battle.
Never find any unique weapons though

I'm waiting for some reviews. I love the idea, but worry about whether it'll be executed well.

So it's that time of the year... my car broke down! So that means... FIFA is out and I had to get on the bus for like the 3rd time since leaving school 7 years ago just to get the Fanatics Pack across the other side of town.

I'm sure the game will be flawed, but just based on the kind of game they want to make, they already have my money.
I am waiting to see what the reviews say about X-Com though.

Haha yeah, I am excited, but I try not to get too hyped up about games in case they turn out bad. Plus I don't think I'll be able to afford it on release so getting super pumped would just be annoying.

I know I said that. I also know I'm probably buying it and pre-loading on steam so I can play it immediately anyway, you reminded me how excited I was! Getting released about a week after my birthday too so...

But yeah otherwise all good. Attacking movement is siq. Changes in body movement/tackling means easier to defend too. Using a modified 4-2-3-1 wide with Arsenal played 6 won 5 lost 1 (to Chelsea, surprise surprise... in form teams always = the team people pick instead of the team they actually barrack for or enjoy their playing style... that or they go Man City and throw Tevez and Aguero up front
).
