Dems are more passionate than Republicans?

I think many Republicans (and a lot of other people) hate Trump and are resigned to the fact that he's their candidate?

On the other hand I question how many of the people who're causing a ruckus at the DNC are actually Democrats?

IDK about who's more passionate as a group :idk:
Depends on the topic, specific issue I guess...but it's probably a toss up.

I didn't watch the RNC (it's backlogged) but I caught a little bit of the DNC yesterday and Monday.
My biggest takeaway was "Dems appear to be in trouble. They're flailing." Also "Wow they're really laying it on thick with yellow journalism, appeals to emotion" with the parade of non-politician ethnic minorities attacking Trump while speaking about their anecdotal hardship, deceased family members & adopting the language traditionally used by the GOP to win elections (out-group othering, us vs them, good vs evil). The hyperbolic assertions "HRC has devoted HER WHOLE LIFE to helping poor people" as if she played soup kitchen instead of house as a child. Also the endless slogan parroting. "I'm with her!" Yuck.

Also during that video montage about HRC's record as SOS the past 8 years; her involvement in Iranian sanctions, Israel & Palestine cease-fire, Egypt and so on...I noticed a conspicuous absense of Benghazi. I figured it would be spun in such a way to suggest "yes it was a tragic situation with unacceptable loss of life, and mistakes were made but without HRC it would have been much worse" etc. But it was just swept under the rug & not addressed at all. I think that's a mistake.

All party politics aside, this right here is the best reason so far why Trump shouldn't be POTUS:

RNC was pretty much the same. It's all just a pep rally.

Lots of people talking about how we need to mobilize the people to vote for HRC, as though she's any better than Trump. Two different stripes of the same kind of proto-fascist bullshit, oh well, it turns out maybe electoral politics doesn't have our best interests in mind. Gonna go take a shit that's more "progressive" than the Democratic party now.

I'm sorry but she is infinitely better than Trump.

Is she great? No. Everybody knows this.

Is she more of the same? Yes. She'll most likely continue in the same direction as Obama.

Has Obama been bad? No. He's done some things that I disagree with, certainly, but he's a whole fuck ton better than goddamn W.

Is Hillary campaigning on fear, nationalism, xenophobia, racism? No.

Would the Supreme Court justices Hillary could appoint be ANYTHING like those Trump would choose? Absolutely. Fucking. Not.

They've got nothing in common. I love Bernie and wish he'd made it, but he didn't. It seems that somehow a lot of us have completely forgotten that presidential elections in our country have almost always been about choosing the lesser of two evils. You can look at that as a 100% negative thing, or you can accept that one of those evils is a LOT less evil.

Regardless, I think it'll be a four year presidency. My plan is just to suck it up, vote for Hillary and try harder next time.

People who live hand-to-mouth don't decide who makes the important decisions, let alone the decisions themselves. Deep down it's known by all, yet we keep trying to convince ourselves "my voice matters!" Not on a macro scale it doesn't. It's not all bad, certainly not something I'm angry about. If you think things are bad now, imagine the USA, and the world run by *the people of walmart*. Democratically, imperialistically, tribally...yikes. I'm not trying to be an apologist for aristocracy but the other extreme is no better...if anything it's the lesser of 2 evils.
