Not sure this really fits in this thread...but up until about a month ago...I had no idea that Freddie Mercury's real name wasn't..well..atleast the Freddie part
This is related to the fact that I discovered that he was actually of "Persian" ancestry? (that was his own term, I think...saw it in a documentary on Ovation)

I am really tired of hearing people talk about "tone".

IIRC Freddie's ethnicity was a sub-group that lived/lives in the mountainous areas of what is now Iran/Iraq, and his people's native religion is Zoroastrianism; he spent some of his growing-up in Zanzibar, where his father was a diplomat. he was a fascinating guy. the thing i love about Freddie is that his whole being, his whole success, was an act of will. as i once said on another forum, he was beautiful because he believed he was beautiful, and loved because he proclaimed that he was loved. he was the Self-Created Man.

i pefer to think of "sound" nowadays rather than "tone." "tone" as people use it is such a limited concept, and i'm tired of limited concepts.

Yes, the pursuit of an impossible "tone".
If I'm watching a video for a buffer, don't say "You're losing mad tone without it," just freakin' say you lose some high end because of the cable length.
I don't want you to tell me something will improve my tone, based on your preconceived notion of what tone is, just let me hear it.

I haven't had a haircut in 4 years. The advantage of having super curly hair is that even when it's actually really long, it curls up enough to only reach my shoulders.

i had a bunch of long dead ends off back in the spring; before that i hadn't had mine cut in, like, forever. you can see it in my picture in the "Let's See You" thread from last November. i think i'm going to get it cut back to shoulder length soon, because it's a pain in the ass and because i have to render myself marginally presentable for potential job interviews HA HA

listening to Daft Punk makes me unreasonably happy. It seriously just makes me want to hug everyone within a 100 foot radius.

edit:: clarification ... I am not on ecstasy

unfortunately.

My friend's 15 year old sister is way hotter than my friend, and that's one of the only reasons I still talk to her
