Out of the batch above, only the AB-Synth and the matching Algal Bloom are top-only. The rest, it just looks that way due to the reflection.

It depends on the model, and customer request. Powder-coated finishes are top, sides, and bottom. Most non-powder-coated custom finishes I paint are just the top...it's actually to help prevent chipping. The tops are taped off, painted, then everything (including sides) gets clear coated.
