With Empress discontinuing the Tremolo 2, is this the new heir?

https://diffractorsoundings.com/produit ... m-tremolo/

(It's nice that these Ponderer demos always feature vocals or some orchestral sample. This one has two vocal sections and a keys example, which makes an acoustic piano sound like a Wurlitzer.)

Yes, yes.
this is the one. That clock output makes it easy to sync loop to analog sequencers - finally someone figured out what was so special about the 16 sec Delay.

The 60 Second Deluxe is a 'Frippertronics' or 'sound-on-sound' style
looping delay, a digital analogy of a tape loop that can do things no
physical tape could ever do, like change speeds and reverse direction instantly. Designed with multi-second looping in mind, the Deluxe can also provide echoes with or without modulation, chorusing, double tracking, vibrato and flanging.

An evolution of our 60 Second Delay, the 60 Second Deluxe does
everything its predecessor can do while providing new options for sound
manipulation and enhanced interfacing with both the player and with
external gear.

We've kept the key features from the 60 Second Delay including that the pedal is always "listening" whether Active or not.

We've improved on the 60 Second Delay in multiple areas: The footswitches are now 'soft touch' types.

We've separated the Fast / Slow setting and Auto / Manual setting to individual switches and added a jack for an external footswitch to toggle between Fast and Slow hands-free. The ratio between Fast and Slow can now be selected to be 2:1 (octaves as on the 60 Second Delay) or 3:2 (perfect fifths!).

We've added a TRS FX loop for the Regeneration (Echo) path. The simplest use is with a volume pedal for foot control of the number of repeats, but any other effect can be inserted. We've also added a Tone knob to roll off high frequencies like an old school analog delay or to roll off low frequencies to keep long repeated echoes from getting too muddy.

Modulation can now be sine wave or square wave.

Additionally, there's a Tick output. This is similar to the Clix option from the original 16 Second Delay and with a little processing (looking at you modular synth heads!) it can provide rhythmic patterns synced to the delay clock, which can then be used to step sequencers, trigger envelopes, etc. Go nuts!

It's cool to see Sending V2 is finally arriving, but it's going to be a difficult journey to compete with other delays at that price point. I wonder if they can apply some of what they've learned to something else, without needing 5 more years of development (flanger, chorus, tremolo, looper).
Pricing: Sending V2 will retail for $649. This is what happens when you cram a rack’s worth of analog processing and a small computer (nearly 500 components across two circuit boards) into a pedal enclosure while manufacturing to the highest possible standard.

A couple of us discussed this price point in a chat and when you consider this is a really complex pedal for a single person to create and also realize the MF-104M, created by fucking Moog corp, cost $1200 street price when you take into account inflation...I'd say this an extremely fair price for what looks like an amazing piece of gear. $0.02.

Comparisons are cool (and an easy way to destroy just about anything), but Sending V2 is not a Moog MF-104M, and never will be. Inflation does not impart, as scarcity of either is a thing that definitely does eggsixt. Then again, trying to haggle with the determination of a decision you've already made is another dare to compare situation, and who really cares.

John & co. make great pedals that are exquisitely tuned for any price point, and as a builder is probably one of the few that is open with his designs, as well as dialed into what his customer base wants/needs/etc. Can't say enough good things about EAE!

If you're already acclimated to hoarding cheap rack gear that does similar things as the Sending V2, the price point is probably relative vs. the time & effort you've already spent accumulating & parsing through that old gear, but for me that time is forever gone, and my life will be way over sooner than later, in terms of yonkspensive peddles barquoomulations.

Basically, I could never even point the tips of my size thirteens at something near $700, but you, you've got your troubles, and I, I've got mine. Foot controllers are still cheap, somehow, but I'm almost out of crystals to exchange via all those craigslists j/officers, so I'm gonna have to start digging before the next equinox.

Oh, I'm not getting one and I was in the "too rich for my blood and general interest in bbd delays" (also I'm too dumb for midi) before I looked up and compared inflation prices because someone in chat started comparing it to another fancy bbd delay by a bigger company, so I don't really have a horse or any "determination of a decision I've already made" in this race. I just thought it generally interesting that purchasing power is relatively high when I and a lot of other people conceive gear prices to have skyrocketed. More of a "howboutdat" moment than a justification for a personal purchase. :D

Never owned an EAE pedal, unfortunately, but if I did it would be the Hypersleep. That thing cool sounding. Also played the Dude, Incredible during ILFEU and it sounded great. :snax:

i think it's not just inflation. people just love to compare pedal prices to the cheap mosky mooers they get on wish without consideration that other things than component count factor into the price.

This demo is probably not going to sway you, but if you've used PLL devices before, this might be for you.

Love IE but after two 4046's died on me within 30 minutes of use I'm pretty gunshy, even if the RM-1N is still amazing.

That's probably because of the nargon rays. I think MI5 went over with their whole strociola fever purge, when McCartney died. For those who aren't exporting to the UK, they should be fine.
