I've never actually had someone quote whatever the bitterness number thing is at me, but I remember reading somewhere that a ton of IPA's are way passed the limit people can actually taste. It'd be like having 256bit audio, everyone stopped giving a shit 240 bits ago. I home brewed for like 10 years straight and made tons of IPA beers.. but as mentioned earlier now 90% of beers I see are IPA with fruit, or coffee, or hamburger..
