I went on a heavy brood war nostalgia trip with this patch earlier; guitar > pedals > audiomulch

That was awesome! I still haven't really tried to plug anything into AudioMulch, I've just messed with samples in the program
Quick question, is ambience a plugin?
Can anyone explain where to get plugins? I tried the KVRaudio site AudioMulch recommends, but I have no idea what's going on over there.

If that's the ambience plug in (which is a great free reverb), you can get it here:

thanks dudes!
yeah that's it. it's so good. to use vsts with am, extract the file to your vst folder in program files/audiomulch. have fun

Yeha dude Ambience is the shizz.
Fun fact: the main noise on my newest tune is a sample from a fairly popular radio song in the mid 90's altered beyond recognition and run through Ambience... which is why the title is an anagram for 'please don't sue me'.

ha! my friend was wondering what shoegaze reggaeton would sound like so I slowed down a pitbull track and sent it through ambience

sorry guys didn't mean to kill the thread with a pitbull remix!!!
I'm looking for a simple, intuitive midi controller to pair with audiomulch. just looking to control faders/sliders for the most part. triggering samples and having the option to get crazy within contraptions would be cool, too. any recommendations? I've been googling but it's kind of endless..

If you can find an Akai midiMix id get on it. It's supposed to be a mixer but it's easy to repurpose into anything you want.
I did mine like this to control the rate and volume of some looping channels as well as sends. (Image prepared for a report earlier):
I use a launchpad to trigger samples though, but those mute/record arm buttons could probs be used for it if you only have a few.

launchpad seems to be the most common for pairing with audiomulch. need me some sliders/knobs tho! would like to avoid multiple controllers if possible, as well.
I like that akai. how do you trigger record/playback with the loops?

I love my Midi Fighter Twister. 4 banks of endless encoders, each with a push button. Ultra-configurable, sturdy, and sexy. I'm not a big fan of faders, so this might not be everyone's cup of tea. Also has a built-in sequencer which is really cool -- it's made to work with Traktor, so it does take some figuring/mapping to work with other program (I use it with Ableton) but you can go in/out of that mode so you can be sequencing and controlling at the same time!

Yeah I feel you, I bought the Launchpad first then realised I needed some knobs/slideys and then bought the Akai.
I don't use audiomulch so I dunno how much is relevant, but I use a 4 channel looping plugin a lot and the two buttons labelled rec arm start and end recording on the plugin. Playback is instant, if I don't want it to be instant I just turn down the volume with the relevant "level" knob.
It's a lot of fun having nine loops going with continuous pitch control though. So much fuckin fun.

I use my Zoom R8 as both midi controller and audio interface when I fuck around with Audiomulch. Might need some more knobs if I used AM more often, but this works for now.

ohhh, right on! that actually seems perfect for me. can only find the newer version, but it's pretty damn cheap so I think I'll try it out. nanokontrol seems like it should get the job done, too. thanks for suggestions, guys!!
now what about playing this stuff live? will running headphone out from my computer into the PA be good enough?

Yeah man, my nidi mix was like $120 AUD and worth every cent.
If you have an audio interface of some kind of then I'd use it. A small USB powered one would be awesome, that's how I roll. Left and right out into a pair of DIs.

killer. currently my set up is guitar > pedals > interface > computer. is there a way to route back to the interface for sound out or do I need another interface?
thanks for the help!!
