So what's the actual going price of these? I'm looking online and they seem to be all over the place depending on where you look. Bob where did you buy yours?

Here's a listing from the guy that I got mine from:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Korg-Miku-Stomp ... 23477599d4
I paid $181 and that seems like the lower limit with free shipping with the absolute lowest being $178 from a dude with 1 feedback. The price should go down a little bit later; the list price in Japan is about $145, but demand exceeded production and their scarcity is driving the price a bit. More are supposed to be shipping out in January-ish.

Has anyone seen a demo where they play chords? Wondering how well this tracks for rhythm playing.

It doesn't track chords. Like an analog octave fuzz. But it does sound more fucked up and horrible.

first impression: running this into infinite reverb and phaser makes for the most fucking awesome synth choir pad sounds i've ever been able to do with a guitar. using an exp pedal to swell in the bitquest verb while adding notes one by one on just about any mode is so much fun.
i'm not particularly inspired by any of the broken glitchy sounds you get by putting chords into it or playing out of tune (i ran a LAL sandstorm into it and it just gave a constant off-pitch note), but that's not the intended use so it doesn't matter. if you tremolo pick sliding across the strings really fast but accurately enough you can get some neat wacky little passages out of it though.
treating it like a monophonic guitar synth at the start of the chain to run into effects, it is phenomenal, seems to stack well with anything that you would put on a guitar, once you add enough effects on top the vocaloid-ness is pretty much obscured so i guess it would appeal to a lot of people regardless.

I had to wait a while (on the waiting list) for them to get some from Korg, but I just bought one today from the Japanese Chuya site;
http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/chuy ... tem/92646/
$159 Canadian,
including the shipping. That's $129 US for my friends south of the border. Money saved = worth the wait (about a month). They take PayPal.

I've ordered from chuya a few times over the years. Unless its a stock issue, you should see your miku alot sooner than a month. They ship e.m.s, not sure if there has been any policy changes over the last few years, but e.m.s packages don't usually go through customs. I've ordered tons of crap from japan and usually receive it in 5-7 days.
