That story makes me sad. Almost did the same thing my VH140C a couple years ago. Found out the 'friend' I was going to sell it to cheap had a buyer for it before I even agreed to sell it to him. Piss off. No sale.

just a bit of noise pots. other than that no issue.

Instead we get the mighty Bassbreakers. Which might be alright of course but more Sunns would be better.

My obsession continues, picked up a Peavey Express 112 and 90s (1993 I believe) Made in USA Peavey Predator for $200! Nice! The Peavey Express sounds like classic awesome transtube technology but the shaft on the low knob is broken off and the reverb doesn't work. (but the seller threw in a dual footswitch that has LEDs which in itself is a $20-$40 value) The Predator is fine but there is a little annoying gash on the neck which is at the very edge of the fretboard and doesn't reside where one would place their fingers. The neck is maple. The electronics on the Predator sucked balls and the guitar has multiple gashes on it ... I still feel it was a great deal. I've completely disassembled the guitar and will salvage the pickups and reconstruct the pickguard assembly with a new 5-way selector switch, pots, potentiometers, etc. I also got rid of the old jack. I feel more comfortable starting from scratch. I have red tone/volume knobs and red pickup covers. I'll combine that with a yellow pickguard I just bought from twilight. And I'm going to find a nasty McDonald's sticker to make it my McPredator. Here's the sticker I'm considering:

Has anyone used the Peavey Mark III Bass head with guitar? Through guitar speakers? With pedals.

I'm looking at old solid state heads as a backup for my Traynor YBA-1, and a can get a Mark III Bass for cheap locally.

It's worth mentioning that I play mostly baritone(EGC TT2 27.5").

I played guitar through it through a bass cab. It was fun.

I have done this with a Mark IV. Nice, loud, clean head that's on the dark side, so the bright switch and EQ need to compensate for that.

Don't have pics yet but just picked up a Peavey XXL head last night. Only got to mess around for an hour or so but that thing is a beast, and that was with me trying to keep it quiet in the 25 watt mode! Colorful cleans, clean cleans, and a whole variety of dirt that plays well with my Naga Viper. Really contemplating my need for an SS-150 at this point in time.
