Since I totally forgot to include a cheat sheet for you:

top most knob is volume, left knob is gain, next knob is tone, next is ruetz, diode select, big knob is blend!

After THREE MONTHS I COMPLETELY finished it up tonight. Swapped out the starve pot for a lower value on the FY-2 side. Added a switch on the FY-2 to create a HUGE MASSIVE ANGRY distortion. Like holy shit scary gain with no gate intense everything on 10 destruction. Wired up the FY-2's second switch for optical oscillation, and the second switch on the Torns Peaker as a THICK overdrive fuzz that gets rid of the gate and splat and leaves you with a punchy drive that you can send into the FY-2.

So 8 knobs, 4 stomps, 2 switches, 4 LEDs. It's definitely changed from the original concept through the way, but I think that it's a really gnarly versatile fuzzer now, that can get super crazy or super metal or super psych or super heavy.

Here's the new additions:

And the guts. It was interesting fitting everything inside the enclosure, but I got it to work. Not the neatest, but for the sounds that come out of this thing, it's fitting:

Sooooooo I've got a few people to thank for that one. Wes, for being chill as shit during each step of the construction of the pedal, for being optimistic with new ideas, open to change, etc etc. And Dan for the wonderful job on the enclosure.

I also finished up GardenoftheDead's Bass Rat tonight. 3 way diode selector + clean blend. SO MANY BLENDS MAN.

So, really feel a lot better now that I've got some stuff done and out of the way. WSG wiring is up next, and hopefully there won't be mandatory overtime at work this week!

I'm excited to see Wes' demo of it--

Sorry things have been quiet in this thread. Just when I think I've got a night to myself, I get mandated overtime, or a hurricane comes through, etc.

Hopefully even if I have to work Saturday I can get the chasis wiring of the WSG done, because it's been bugging me that I've not gotten to sit down with it like I've wanted to. I'll actually be home tonight, so I'm going to get it going.

Stuff is in the mail for Bassus' Cave Dweller DLX.

I would be happy to volunteer my Dirge Cavedweller and gloom drive for a euro or USA tour I would also be happy to toss in my bukowski drive so you euros could experience some massively awesome USA builders

Sure, tourboxes are a fun way to let fuzz bros try out cool stuff. I'm game.

I've had that WSG on my mind lately, can't wait.

I'd love to try out the cavedweller sometime.

My eternal debate is whether to pull up the existing IC's and then try to put sockets in, or just leave them be. Part of me wants to try it, but I would hate messing up the board somehow if I tried taking out the ICs. I think I'll leave them in unless there is an issue with them when I wire it up. There was SOMETHING wrong with the wiring when it came to me because it had very low volume, I'm hoping rewiring everything solves that issue, but if not, I'll look elsewhere on the PCB

Got a SHIT TON of stuff done tonight because I got home at a somewhat decent time.

First up, got some wiring done on the WSG- wired up the starve pot, power switch, power LED, 3DPT for the booster, and the LED for the booster. Need to swap out the starve pot for a higher value I think, I can't recall what I had in mine when I added the starve.

Image

I also got a huge chunk of Bassus' Cave Dweller Deluxe out of the way tonight, turns out I had an enclosure about 85% of the way drilled with the layout I was thinking of for it, so I added the holes I needed to and populated both boards:

Image

Lastly, I finished populating the Rub A Dub Reverb board I'd had laying around for a few months, just need the brick before I can wire it up. I really super dig this reverb. It sits in the mix SO well.

Image

Tomorrow night I'll finish wiring up Bassus' Delay, and work on the WSG more.
