Only thing I can say is that is indeed what my pedal did when I first engaged it...have you tried all knobs full clockwise except for the volume(far left)?

Yeah done some knob twiddling nothing changed. Their is sound when engaged just no fuzzies

I see some frays coming off the wires connected to the pot lugs. Make sure none of those frays are contacting the enclosure or it will short the signal to ground.

Another thing to try is plugging the pedal in and kinda wiggling each wire a little to see if moving anything makes it work. You could find a bad connection that way

So guys. I just soldered my IC socket in backwards How can I get this out?

Socket shouldnt matter. The IC orientation does.

unsoldering sockets really sucks.....you end up screwing them much of the time....rygot is right, it does not matter.

Check your wiring on the starve and gain pots. I see some frays that could be causing problems

Have you tried plugging it in to your amp while it's open so you could poke around and hear the sound? This would let you know if you have a bad solder joint

the gain and tone pots were swapped
resoldered them and it works perfect
