Sure. Basically, our church does traditional hymns (Baptist church, by the way) for part of the service, and "contemporary" songs for part.
During the contemporary section, our "Praise and Worship" band plays what are essentially pop-oriented songs with Christian lyrics, with keyboards, bass, guitar, drums and vocals.

please tell me it's this. Contemporary Christian music is the biggest facepalm ever. Not to get down on the church-going crowd, but that music suuuuuuuuuuucks.

sometimes..but usually the choir/pianist perform the hymns and the band does the more 'contemporary' songs.
A good example of the kind of songs we do would be one called "We Give You Glory"
Can't remember who it's by, though

the name Jeremy Camp kinda sounds familiar, though...

Musically it's no different than a lot of other stuff.
Granted it may come with what you feel are cheesy lyrics. Jank, I'm a christian and I find most CCM songs cheesy. I don't doubt the sincerety of the artist, but it's not for me.
For me, Top 40 "christian" music is just like regular Top 40. There are guys out there doing some really cool stuff, in my opinion, but they would never get played on K-Love.

i played in a youth group band when i first learned to play bass, and it was actually a lot of fun. the music was awful, but the kids were so enthusiastic about it that it didn't matter.
the band's purevolume page is still up if you're curious.

Just ordered an 8 string guitar. And a rack for all my guitars. Tired of having them kind of just scattered around the apartment wherever I can lean them. Oh, and ordered the tab book for Scale the Summit's "The Collective", and some technique books from Christopher Arp of Psyopus.

It really is so much better with them on a rack. No more scary drops or awkwardly moving around them.

What kind of rack did you buy? I've been looking to upgrade from my three space stand.

at some point, when i have the room i'm currrently typing from sorted out so i can play in here, i'll get a rack. right now everything other than maple-necks stay in cases...since the neck on my most cherished guitar got broken years ago in a tragic guitar-stand accident, i never leave mahogany-neck guitars laying around where they can fall over. but it's a huge ass-pain digging out, e.g., the Tele from the back of the stack of cases.

Kudos to HelloMusic.
I ordered a Melody Maker from them yesterday but forgot that I had a $25 credit code.
So I emailed them today, thinking there was no way this would work, and they said that they would credit the 25 bucks back to my card.
Thumbs up, customer service. Thumbs up.
