Isn't that a feminist?
Orrrrrrr....
Why does a feminist complain so much?
Because she doesn't have a dick in her mouth.

the problem with "feminism" as it's represented today is that sometime in the late 70s/early 80s feminism stopped being about gaining equality for women and became another subset of interest-group politics dedicated to gaining power and advantage for women, often at the expense of equality. the result can be seen today, in a society in which women are over-represented in college student bodies, management positions, the professions, and employment rate relative to percentage of the population while men are over-represented in high-school dropout rates, un- and under-employment, and incarceration rates.

At the same time, I think the word "feminist" gets thrown around a little too freely as an insult or in a derogatory way--wouldn't most sane people in first world countries qualify as feminists? I know I would.

well, that, i think, has to do with the repurposing of the term "feminist." certainly i consider myself a feminist as the term was understood in 1972...i saw what my Mom went through in terms of discrimination and the oppressive nature of cultural expectations in the 50s and 60s, and i heard the stories of how, e.g., she was demoted from first to second in her high-school class because a girl couldn't be valedictorian (this would have been at the turn of the 30s). so, like racism was personal for me because i grew up with black people and anti-Semitism became personal when i married into a Jewish family, feminism was personal for me because it was about people like my Mom, my aunts, and my female friends. but once the extreme, doctrinaire, anti-male ideologies of "feminists" like Catherine "Evil! Evil Penis!" McKinnon came to the fore, neo-"feminism" lost its appeal to a lot of otherwise sympathetic people of both sexes, to the point where IIRC a majority of college women polled no longer identify as "feminist."

Today I've interviewed an 80 year old lady that sings "Don't cry for me argentina" in TV show. Then she tells me she worked as a prostitute the last two years. Then she shows me a blog by one of her buddys that's all pictures of gigantic black penises in random holes in white women. Work can be weird.

I've gotten good at sticking my hand up a chicken and spearing it with a rotisserie
My only issues with certain strains of feminism(once again, "feminism" is a debilitatingly broad ideology) are a general lack of context when analyzing history (sure maybe Locke meant MEN when he said "men" but without him you wouldn't be able to conceptualize women's rights or any rights for that matter) and a lack of positive ideaology (once again, look at Carole Plateman, she spends >10x as much time saying what's wrong with other philosophies that justifying, or even clarifying her own). Going out and fighting against purported abuses of women's rights is great. Holding up a sign that says "More rights for women" or rattling off some absurd(in a literary sense, that is unconnected) list of statistics about women in a the workplace isn't very constructive or helpful to your cause. If you want to go that route, you might as well join the Tea Party or Occupy Wall Street or some other equally ambiguous and obnoxious group of nincompoops.
So I don't have problems with feminists so much as Carole Plateman and others who follow the logic of "I'm going to prove everybody wrong(poorly) as proof that I'm right."

Apparently Korn is releasing a dubstep album.
http://www.nme.com/news/korn/59480One of my friends showed me that, and I thought it was an Onion type article. Nope. It's for real.

I... don't think they quite understand what dubstep is. I also can't decide whether this or the Metallica + Lou Reed collaboration album will be more hilarious.
