That does look good on that worn down guitar. I saw one on a guitar in nice condition and it didn't look as nice. Maybe if I found one for cheaper than $40. It's crazy how expensive pickguards can be.

The gold guards were sexy as hell and I can't fathom why they stopped using them.

Seriously man. Pickguard prices absolutely blow my mind.

Someone told me about cutting my own out of a 12" record, which could be cool. Just gotta find the right color I guess.
Not sure how I'd cut it, though. or if it'd fit a Jazzmaster; I think the jazzmaster would be too big for one record.

It is crazy! Fender's are wildly inconsistent in fit as well, I've had trouble with swapping more than one in the past. You can order custom and get any guard you please, but the price jumps through the stratosphere at that point, stupidly expensive for a piece of plastic.

The original owner, Johnny Kay apparently, tagged his name onto it. It's a little plaque held on with two screws.
I took it off, but I'm considering putting it back on for cred.

Also, the pickguard is warped to jank, so I've got a replacement coming.

I wish I could flatten it but it is way past that point.
It's warped all the way around the edge, and in a couple places you can actually see into the cavity. Also, it pinches the pickup covers and rhythm circuit controls.
The whole thing has, like, drawn up. I really wish I could work it out, but I just don't see it getting back to a usable shape.
