I can only listen to them for so long before his voice starts to anger me. Same thing with MTB, but it's more the lyrics and DL-4 wanking.

I hate chorus, phasers, flangers, distortion pedals, wahs, pointy metal guitars, explorers, and flying vs.
I'll also never buy anything that is a "signature" piece of gear. Like a Jimi Hendrix "signature fuzz pedal or a signature guitar.

Re: The Confessions Thread
one thing a key change can be handy for is when you want to have a solo and you don't want to just have the verse or verse/chorus go around again...change the key for eight bars or sixteen bars and it's a contrast. think of "Respect" in the Aretha Franklin arrangement.

Re: The Confessions Thread
The only cool key change is in Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit. Creating a faux-ascending lick through the use of key changes throughout the song is monumental genius.
On the other hand, the Airplane is my go-to band when it comes to discussions of "bands who have awful production when you're sober, but when you're stoned & wearing headphones... shit son, it's amazing."
Surrealistic Pillow is basically the bar for the Good-Idea-When-Yr-Fucked production model.
Live it.
Love it.
Drug it.
Sorry, a bit plastered. A bit of unrequited love(?) happening. It's made me all Clapton meets Duane.

Re: The Confessions Thread
One time I looked up a video of Jefferson Airplane live. Jesus Christ they were fucked up. I love Surrealistic Pillow as much as any 90's-born wannabe 60's flower child, but that was a hot mess. Studio wise their still pretty good. Incredible if you're stoned. Grace Slick was so phenomenal.
Another time, my friend and I were in Vegas. He was tripping on acid in the bathtub and tried to convince me to chuck the 8 track into the tub at the peak of the song frying him like some soggy bacon.
I don't have a prahblem with key changes, I just like to know before hand so I'm not locked out *buh-dum-cha!*

key changes are cool. i like them. what reason is there to dislike them?
plus they're so common in music, it must suck if you hate 'em.
