The current cultural sentiment is "fuck you" no matter who or what you are. "me-first, fuck you" or something. Scust.
I'm wary of others who tell me who to hate. Who to fear. Who to support.
It's as if the notion of being a good neighbor has become taboo, along with humor about anything but the out-group.
Close your eyes & take a good look in your mind's mirror using your 3rd eye. Do you like what you see? If not then fix yourself before focusing on how to improve the flaws around you.
Humans are simultaneously capable of great achievement and compassion as well as unspeakable crimes against humanity.
In spite of numerous contradictory examples of duality, we are expected to pick a side and pushback against opposition.
I'm a blend of multiethnic and ideologically diverse, amorphous interests. Don't matter which side I pick, it's the wrong one. I just try to live cautiously benevolent and act like a guest on a playdate where ever I go. It's fun to have a variety of individuals to share playtime, but some people just clash/aren't fun to be around. Best avoided, let them have their own fun without me. I personally don't want anything to do with selfish whiner authoritarians. Or chronic pessimists who refuse to acknowledge, let alone take the good with the bad. Or the bad with the good.
There are a lack of adult conversations... without spirals into defensiveness & dug-in heels over distorted assertions.
These are weird times of nuance-free hyperbole & caricature. Reducing individuals to tidy, labeled, boxed single trait characters. Walling-off cultural exchange.
Extremism, refusal to exercise comprehension in distinguishing macro & micro scale relativity.
Polarized hatred for others in the out-group. Justifying vengeance, deflecting criticism and attacking dissenters. Witch hunts condemning opposition for action & behavior defended in allies.
It's miserable and exhausting to view everything as racist, sexist, phobic of such and such and adopting a myopic position on whichever platitude is the topic du jour.
Not to gloss over harsh reality, but changing what you can control is far more productive. Better than ignorantly speculating about the hearts & minds of strangers, outrage-by-proxy. Nontroversy buzzwords. Which group is most persecuted, oppressed or privileged. What you cant say. When it's OK to care and who deserves mistreatment.
Sorry I don't hate myself or you, or the people you hate. But not sorry. I mean that with all sincerity.

Man, wikileaks absolutely fucked the Democrats. In one hand I'm all about infovigilantism, but this just gave trump a full arsenal of nukes to fire. All fire can be cleansening.

This tied with the campaign chief's history working for Putin, Trump getting the RNC to soften the platform's support for the Ukraine, and Trump telling the world he would let Putin take back the Baltic states, NATO treaty be damned . . .

Nothing they put out is surprising if you have been actually following all the bullshit going down. If Trump wins because the corruption they committed you can't blame wikileaks, they could have done things the right way and not acted like everything they say they are against.. if Trump wins because of their crimes it's their fault alone.

DNC fucked themselves by trying to fuck their own constituents. I understand why they did what they did but all it does is make everyone look as bad, if not worse than accused & imagined. Damaging to the public trust is an understatement. It was already more than likely going to be a HRC presidency but now I honestly don't know. The buzz around social media last week was Bernie supporters being pissed at his HRC endorsement. Understandably, considering a cornerstone of his platform was to get corruption out of politics. Good one. Also to get big money out of politics. Well-meaning if not foolish one, tbh. Economic power is best encouraged to reinvest responsibly in local communities where ever they conduct & influence commerce. But I digress.
A lot can happen in 3 months and spiteful sentiment is not to be underestimated
I was all but convinced we'd have a political dynasty ticket of Clinton/Bush. I'm still all but convinced there's too much at stake for the old money interests and the fix is in for HRC who will play ball. While flopping for the refs and low key playing by her own rules, naturally
If that wins the presidency and greases the machine a little while longer, I'll put some respeck on it. But I'll feel better by not voting for it. Or listening to a voice I could do without ever hearing again. Nothing big is going to change other than the amount of angry people and already angry people getting angrier. I'd rather not be miserable all the time. My music gear sounds too good for that and I'm fortunate enough to enjoy it while I still can. It can all change for the worse in an instant.

Yeah, I don't think it comes as any surprise to anyone that both major parties are "big business".
Also, keep in mind that Bernie Sanders isn't really a Democrat any more than Trump's a Republican.
So, that's just one more prejudice against them from within the well established party ranks.
I think Sanders did as well as could be expected under the circumstances.
Trump's success probably has more to do with the failure of the Republican Party than Trump would likely admit.

I mean, of course everyone knew, but the vauge info and speculation available did not hold much power before being substantiated by the recent leaks, both guccifer2's and this new hacker. Now Fox and such will run a field day over this while CNN/MSNBC tries to downplay it as much as possible.
This really is the cyberpunk dystopia I dreamt about as a kid.
