There is definitely something funky with that bass. If it's a '74, why does it have a serial number on the headstock? Pretty sure Fender started doing that in what, 76 or 77?

And that metal control plate look along with the lack of a pickguard just screams early G&L to me.

The routing is 60's though and the metal plate has nothing to do with it... They did make a lot of those plain woods in the early 70's and it kinda looks right... I'm guessing some Prog. Programmer bought it and is just going off whatever he heard from the seller...
