this is not great mate, i was there a few years back, but somehow it turned around. PM if you need, even though I'm not great at giving advice
As an old dude, I'm gonna give you youngsters some advice: it may not necessarily be you. You lose so many people you thought were friends by the end of your twenties it seems really bleak, but what's actually happening is (consciously and subconsciously) you're finding out that most people are shit and you're clearing them out of your life.
Don't stress about it. Assholes play games, don't play with them.
The real friends will be left at the end.

This is v true, I burned some bridges recently and afterwards I realized they should have been set on fire a long time ago.

I agree to some extent. I don't have an actual friendship these days that dates back to over 7-8 years ago when I decided to call it quits on certain "bridges". But you have to be mindful of the difference between evolving out of an unsatisfying/unpleasant relationship/environment that therefore feels unbearable and just closing up. Sometimes, the line is hard to see.
Anyway, hang in there Goose

i just realized the whole reason's my drummer's singer from his other band freaked out on me when i sent our other friend to an actual mastering engineer instead of letting the singer do it, who has no training in sound engineering. he was about to come back from tour and be broke af. he just wanted my friend's money. greedy fuck. good thing that bridge is burned. i've know this guy for 7 or 8 years. he's always been a high strung control freak.
anyways, i've been going through a lot of similar shit lately, honestly after a little while you come to realize how toxic all these people you're x'ing out of your life are and you'll be a lot happier for it. i just got a "new" phone and didn't bother copying over any contacts besides my family, coworkers, and bandmates. those are the only people in my life worth sticking by. you might say, "coworkers? fuck that!" well i like my job and work with awesome people who i can trust. but still, this isn't unnatural and not your fault most likely.

Had two separate companies call up about warranty repairs.
One of them said their repair didn't work at all but, apparently, decided to call a completely separate repair center to ask for instruction on how to disassemble the unit.
Then they say we fucked up.
The other one hooked up bad power supplies, completely nuked their system, and expected us to honor the warranty after their fuck up.
I cannot handle how stupid people are, anymore.

You keep complaining about your customers. I don't think you're in the right line of work, buddy. Dealing with less competent people is pretty much why you have the job you do. Service clearly isn't your thing.

Nah, it's mostly because I don't really have an outlet for all the pent up hatred against my shittier customers.
In general, I only interact with two people personally. So, there's not a lot of people to bitch about work with.
I like the work itself, but I'm definitely not a people person. On top of that, dealing with customers often involves them doing something wrong and blaming me, them going completely fucking postal if I make a minor mistake or if a repair I do fails in the new environment it's placed in (as opposed to in my shop where everything's relatively controlled), or customers just being morons in general (not understanding how email works, suddenly being unable to input a credit card number into their computer, etc.).
Normally I allocate customer service to my dad, since he's more well disposed than I am.

I feel you. Stupid people are shit, venting is oh so good! I worked in the service sector for years. It's frustrating. It's what made me go back to school.

Turns out, the toothpaste I've been using lately uses Stannous Fluoride rather than Sodium Fluoride, and I've had a weird metallic taste in my mouth for about the same amount I've been using the toothpaste.

It's driven me to the point that I can't taste anything properly, anymore.

yikes.
had some dude start pilfering my complimentary strings at work today for some weird electric harp he built. i spent 20 minutes explaining to him that the strings weren't free then he offered me money and i asked him if he was trying to bribe me and he fucked off real quick. then he came back begging for one last string, i offered him one, then he asked for a dozen more so i basically told him to fuck off and forced him to buy a bunch of packs of strings.

Went to see my old band play. Halfway there, the subway shut down, in both direction. Spent 1,5 hours walking home...in Norway...in November. So cold.
Good news is, I have a fireplace and hot chocolate. LET THE COZINESS BEGIN!!!

Thick socks man. Thick socks.
Amber clouds was it? I remember wondering why you stopped playing with them, I like that dreamy new wave.
