yeah. it's frustrating, because it's FUN... but then i get to a point that doesn't have a save close by and get locked into a battle with something that stomps me.... and am down a butt load of souls. just feels cheap. not rewarding. killing my interest in it.

Never played a Persona and I don't know where to start.

I'm not sure if it's made by the same team (possibly?), but it's definitely similar style of play and art. Visually it's FANTASTIC. Super cool animation and design, and the gameplay is pretty fluid when you get it down! I'm waiting for the price drop to buy it myself. I'll just be using his copy for a while....

FUCK DARK SOULS. i'm done with this game. i love it, but that reset all your exp/money mechanic is so CHEAP. i got up against one of the demons, did an attack on his head jumping off a parapet above him to get half his life off, whittled away and dodged long enough to almost kill him and he rushed me and swept me off the bridge we were on to my death. even though i still had 75% life. and wiping out like 3,000 souls (still early in the game so that's like 4 or 5 stat bumps).

Biking a couple miles to the area Gamestop today and picking up my copy of Darksiders II

Also started Crysis 2, pretty fucking fun and the graphics are gorgeous.

That was like my #1 soul farming technique in Demons Souls. Got mad levels out of that Red Eye knight in the first stage.

On a related note, someone let me borrow Dark Souls so I can haz teh rayg before I sell my PS3.

dark souls is pretty fair from my experience. Once I beat Ornstein and Smough, I've realized there aren't too many "bullshit" fights. I'm pretty patient, but this game has definitely challenged my patience. I got lucky pretty early on. In a quick PVP matchup, I ended up with 900,000 souls. I've only got 2 more bosses left, but there's really only 2 or so legitimately difficult fights. Most of the bosses are pretty gimmicky IMO. As in, once you figure out the weakness, it's pretty simple to beat them. The exceptions being Ornstein and smough, and the four kings who will REALLY piss you off. that being said, I was pretty skeptical to play the game, but now that I've played 90% of it, I can confidently tell you it's easily one of the top 5 games I've ever played. Hands down. maybe even top 3.

I don't think it's an unfair game at all. And I would put it up there with my top games as well because it's so fucking amazing. But even though it's fair, it's really hard and I just decided I was done with it and it was time to move on.

huh. i dunno. it's still the upgrade mechanics that piss me off enough to be done with the fucking thing. yesh, the combat system is awesome and fun and deep, the visuals are perfect, it's FUN. but if you're having a problem with a level you grind until you can upgrade enough to finish it. the whole thing about losing ALL your unspent loot/exp is... fucking awful. hate it.

sooooo.... my copy's off to Futunari Sailors, he's sending me the first game to check out. GODSPEED YOU DIRTY BASTARD.
