So it sounds like the range switch on the Monobius has failed again, so this will be getting a brief overhaul at my place before resuming its tour.
I'm thinking of slapping a short shaft in that position for the time being, I know the Mudlark traveled with short shafts so both profiles have been experienced on the stateside leg of the journey. My question to you is:
Is there a distinct preference of one toggle size over another? Or should I throw in the towel and plant a rotary in the range position? Commentary invited!

I like long shaft toggles, but as the road proves they don't last as long if they are getting beat on. Short shaft is totally cool too, it's just different. I don't think rotary is necessary really, then you'd need a knob etc and more room, nah. That's just me though
Toggles for days.

short and thick switches. the harder to switch, the better. Nothing more irritating than having a switch not work. Nobody is going to be actively switching like a madman anyways between those settings IMO unless they read this and just want to prove me wrong afterwards

Short-shaft toggle is fine. No need for a rotary switch.
(I still need to send my Monobius in to you for the update to the three-way range switch. Good reminder.)

It's definitely too late to get in on this right?
Danny Dubs has been singing the praises of the tetanus booster and he has me wanting to try it out. And then I read about the Mudlark and the monibius and UGGGHHHH.

heya, sorry to those of ya'll down the line! it's finally getting a move on. had a blast with these and found them to be super inspiring. in the end I recorded a couple hours or so of sounds and have been chopping them up/sequencing them for a show with street sects this wednesday. crazy ass boxes, for sure!
I'll start with the crustacean - the top output is a soothing whitish noise that gets a -little- crackly when maxed; the middle one is on the low end side (super thunderous/fat/meditative); and the bottom one (closest to knob) is chaotic and becomes monstrous when cranked. plays nicely into any other pedal at that point.
the tetanus booster is simply MASSIVE. running a kick into this is instant monster trap house. turned a boring ass kick into some neck breaking grime. I could live with this and the crustacean so I am keeping both of them

(shout out to curtis for being a frikkin boss and hooking me up)
stone splitter - not even sure what the fuck this thing is supposed to do? But I love it. makes everything balls to the wall. fat lows and hissing highs. playing with the feedback switches brings the harsh noise cuts. throw in how the gain knob tends to 'reset' (or dip or squish) the sound and you have a sputtering tractor trying to come to life. pretty low unity in comparison to the other boxes, but that doesn't matter when you use the mudlark or monobius to bring it back up..
mudlark - out of all the boxes this is the one I wish I had a guitar on hand for the most. feeding it noise/walls didn't yield much results besides EQ shaping/tone blasting. (I guess that's what it's for?) in any case I could listen to this and the crustacean in tandem all night.
monobious - fun little fucker. messing with the ext wave carrier was fun. combined crustacean outs a bunch here. you can set the dial in some spots and it will sputter on it's own/talk to itself. I think the three way switch was stuck on the thinner side of things, cause when I would touch it ALL HELL WOULD BREAK LOSE. I'm definitely going to have to jump on one of these later down the line; crustacean + TB + monobious = absolute aural annihilation.
here's a clip with a few cuts, wish I had detailed notes but in the end it's pure RMA sound. crustacean > TB/stone splitter > mudlark/monobious for most of the clip.

I'll share some variations of a kick thru the boxes soon and post some finished sequences/rhythms with these sounds when they're set. thanks again!!!

Watch out man, the resale value of your gear may hinge on what you say next!

I'm a lying motherfucker. Turns out I do not have short throw switches on hand and my first source supplier is out - so I fixed it with a standard throw.
I also dug into the stone splitter a little to assist in a schematic re-draw.
This solves the interaction of the output volumes and allows a host of shit for future applications.
I'll be shipping this back out on Monday, I hung on to it this long because I'll be using some of the units to play a show tonight. I'd offer a write up, but it'd probably be biased.
