I'm glad you are loving it! Your replacement left the building yesterday. We double checked to make sure Stereo In and Out was working. I left the unit in "Stereo In" mode, so it should be good to go in your stereo setup once it arrives (hopefully Monday).

Glad you are loving both pedals hotknife! The Blade Runner influence comes from a totally authentic place. I was already designing algorithms based on the legendary verb used on the original's soundtrack before the new movie was announced for our 500 series. I made sure that the Mercury7 could do the long swirling grainy trails that made the originals so great, as well as having its own unique voice.

Full manuals for both pedals will be up soon. Rough drafts are complete, and now revisions, graphics, and layouts are underway. In the meantime, I'm here for anyone that's stuck! I'll get you whatever info you need.

Side note, be sure to mess with the "pitch mix" control. It's the 2nd layer under the mix knob. It is set pretty high as a factory default, but for some pitch intervals I find that setting the pitch mix low can be more satisfying than the full blast parasitic pitch de-evolutions (although they are fun too)
Thank you and welcome to the forum! I was smiling madly when I first heard the Mercury7 in person. You nailed exactly what I'd been looking for in a reverb pedal for years. Extremely excited to have you guys (and girls) in the pedal scene. :!!!:

As mentioned above this is definitely a pedal where you want to start with things dialed out and then bring in your destruction "bit" by bit. It can do a lot at once, so it's easy to rush into not knowing what's doing what. But I'm already getting so many cool settings that I know a preset or midi switch will be essential for me.

I was struggling a little to get the expression preset morphing set up, but I think maybe I was using a exp pedal that wasn't sending full heel. Need to experiment a little more. Definitely eager for a full manual with written explanation of the ins and outs of efficiently setting up and tweaking this aspect of it.

Stutter for me (feeding it a non-guitar source) is a little unpredictable, but I'm loving it actually. Partially I'm still figuring it out... it's like learning to improv jam with a little pedal robot that's responsive to you but also doing its own thing... That's what it feels like anyway  I for one welcome my new Otto-pedal-lord.

Love this thing!!
Love hearing this! I do this all the time when building sounds. It was really important to me to have a neutral spot where the control had no effect. Sample Rate at max means you are getting the full sample rate. Bits at max means you are not doing any bit reduction. Etc.. Same goes for the filter. The filter is "ladder style" in spirit, but it is our own custom topology. The gain and Q of the filter change along with the corner frequency so you are continually in the sweet spot, and then at the max setting, the filter opens up and becomes completely transparent. And, like manymanyhaha mentions, there are two filters one for left and one for right.

Which expression pedal are you using? I've used the Moog exp, the Dunlop Volume(x) and the Dunlop Volume(x)mini, and they all work great. It sounds like you are on the right track. Just put the exp pedal to "toe up", set the knobs how you like, put the exp pedal "toe down", set the knobs how you like, and that's it. It should smoothly morph between those two sounds. If you want to save these settings just press and hold the "Alt" button.

This next bit will make more sense when you are working with the pedal in realtime: but if you ever want to copy the "toe up" settings to the "toe down" settings, just pull the cable out of the Ottobit Jr.'s (or Mercury7's) EXP Jack and then plug it back in. I do this whenever I just want to only change one parameter. In this next clip, I really liked the sequence I programmed on the "toe up" part of the expression pedal and all I wanted the exp pedal to change was the filter knob. I just unplugged and re-plugged the cable in the back of the Ottobit Jr to copy the sound to "toe down" and then when I was at the "toe down" position, I just changed the filter setting. https://soundcloud.com/meris-us/lo-bit-filter-sweep

Thanks for the warm welcome hotknife and Chankgeez! My brain temporarily shuts down and rewires itself every time I hear the reverb tails in the Blade Runner intro. https://youtu.be/itBfsIWXptc?t=31s So good.....

Owning my own CS-80 is a life goal for me. Someone is making a build-your-own CS-80 clone, so that might be the ticket. In the meantime, that's why I bought the E-70 that's featured at the end of our Mercury7 pedal demo video. It has the same envelopes and filters (different oscillators) as a CS-80 and GX-1. I plan on breaking out the programming controls on the E-70 like this guy did https://youtu.be/DB5ujVGxt0Y?t=9m2s The E-70 satisfies my Vangelis aspirations for now.

For more Blade Runner-y madness, if you open up the Space Decay, Hi Frequency and Lo Frequency controls all the way, the Mercury7 will do infinite sustain.

Great. Now I want a Mercury7 too. Reminds me a bit of the Blackhole on the Space, which was my favorite. Though I really like the tremolo options too, now I wonder if the vibrato on the Mercury7 could cover similar ground for my uses.

Glad to see you around here, Sasquatch.

Yea I found the infinite sustain. It's nutso. LOL.

I'm having a lot of fun with these pedals. The expression control is stupid easy to set up too, which is killer. The filter sweep on the Ottobit alone makes that pedal worth it. It's insane.

If I get one of these (I am 100% going to get one of these, there is no 'if'), can I get rid of both my Judder and my Charlie Foxtrot?

Probably not. The stutter senses your pick attack then repeats up to 8 times at normal, half speed, double time, or random. Elevenstrings referred to the process as Marco Polo, where Marco os your pick attack and Polo is the stutter. When it repeats it kills your dry signal.

Anyone here know if it's compatible with the Empress Midibox?

If it is an older one, it might work with some resistor changes, but I don't know for sure.

Disaster Area Amps is making an updated version of the Empress Midibox that works: http://www.disasterareaamps.com/shop/midibox

Do you know if the DMC 8 will work as well? I need something that will work with a lot of my boxes at once.
