My main piece of gear for the year is already in hand, I have no patience.
ES-8 is a grand little monster, just for the stuff it lets me wring out of the stuff I already own.
And I haven't even scratched the MIDI control or expression stuff yet or even played with every inconceivable possibility of just the stuff that's normally in my chain.

I feel like that thing is like a battle axe added to your collection of bad ass weapons. Should really do some damage.

It really is, I'm able to program any sane (or insane) pedal routing and tap 'em with one button-press in real time. And integrated with my existing setup, it really brings the standalone pedals I love into the continuum of what makes me happy beyond how they sound.

2017 gear goal: Figure out what my foundation sound is going to be. I've always had a go to sound, but right now my shit is a mess, so anything more is wasting money.

I recently developed a new goal, and that is to buy a ton of cheapo pedals/toys and circuit bend the shit out of them. I did a Danelectro BLT two nights ago (my first bend ever) and I've already had several people asking if I do commissions, so maybe I can fund some nice pedz by buy-mod-flipping some cheapos. And have some fun and hear crazy sounds along the way.

Goals: More DIY, more building shit, get my board power situation under control, release or at least record enough material to put out a solid release after mixing and mastering.

This doesn't go along with your DIY/building goal (although I'm guessing you're probably not trying to build an iso power supply), but check out Yankee. If you contact their distributer directly, you might be able to get them to drop the price on the HMS-24 down to $450. That's what they offered me, and now I'll never need another power supply. I can even run all my Volcas, my Organelle, and my SP404 from it along with my pedals - my only setback is the dang cable lengths/ergonomics most of the time.

Do they come with any jumpers or did you get your own based on the lengths you need? And yeah, not trying to build an iso power supply

Decent case for my amp head
Non-crap headphones
Pedalwise:
Iron Ether Xero Dlx (new one looks sick)
Top mount comp - thinking the Seymour Duncan Vise thinger check.
Wanna get Turnip farm to make a trumpety fuzz. Like that one from that shitty brand that that guy designed. I've written it down somewhere.
SSBS Hawk. Because I've always wanted one.
Maybe a muff or a rat, or some other classic circuit. Never really muffed or ratted. Or tonebent. list goes on.
Really want to go nuts on upgrading my knobs. Maybe etching the shit out of everything too. For more better toan.

worra - they come with cables, and their own USB lamps (as they should at that price point). I might buy a few extras at the proper lengths - the included ones are fine for my board, but not long enough to reach from my board to a nearby table top, which is typically where I keep my synths/sampler.

Ok, I have a better idea of my 2017 goal now.
-Sell my amp
-Sell my telecaster (my only electric guitar)
-Get a Princetone Reverb clone (probably a Vintage Sound - Vintage 20)
-Get a new guitar (probably with P90 pickups)
-Hungry Robot HG
-Fairfield Circuitry (modulation not release yet)
Then try to be happy with what I have and practice more.

Noice. Sounds like a sweet plan.
