I don't think so. But the pedal market is made for the US money. So it make it expensive for us to purchase local stuff with the taxes and everything. Canadian pedals are less expensive for you guys because of the money convertion and you don't have to pay any taxes.Chankgeez wrote:Obviously, Guillaume hates Québécois and doesn't want any of 'em to buy any of his pedals.

The pedal market definitely favours the US dollar, but I'm fine paying more to support local Canadian companies. Plus, we generally have to pay customs fees (that definitely seem to be more than normal tax) on most things that cross the border either waysylnau wrote:I don't think so. Also, having owned most of Fairfield's products in the past, I can definitely say that their build quality is top notch/possibly better than many competitors.
I still really want both of these for a tabletop setup. I'd put the filter/EQ in one of my mixer aux and the feedback loop in the other with a CT5 in the loop. That won't happen for awhile, but maybe one day.

Yeah, I'd love a Long Life as an end-of-chain Klon stand-in.

All love to Guillaume, but there are many options here.MrNovember wrote:The pedal market definitely favours the US dollar, but I'm fine paying more to support local Canadian companies. I'd take a hard look at this if I were to be doing a lot of soundscape stuff on a small footprint though.

Feedback looper is about $200 USD, and the filter/eq will be about $300. That seems like a reasonable market price.

Oh yeah to be clear, I got the exchange rate wrong. The price is ok.

BTW, I don't advocate for anyone to move to the U.S.A. right now to get better prices on pedals.

Re: Fairfield, the announcement of a new pedal?
Inspired me to dig out my Operator!? and run a bunch of stuff through it. Analog delays and Phaseur Moire were choice, but Mercury 7 nearly killed my pets with a 1 mm knob movement. Will be upgrading to Hd'O? once finances permit (or like, exist again). Those wet/dry controls will be a real boon.
