I've actually been doing a lot of thinking about it the last two weeks on during my workout times...

I knew it was accomplished via phase cancellization but was working through the kind of filtering that would be needed... but was wondering about the artifacts and stuff...but I hadn't really thought about using it as a barbershop phaser...

Just awesome to know that my mind is on the right track even though I glanced at the bode schems for like 5 min...not to say I could build one...just that the word problem in my head is going some place haha.

Yeah, I've been listening to that Alice Coltrane record a lot lately. Amazing stuff. Still have no idea what she's using with that organ.

The sideband stuff does sound much better. And when all three modes are on it sounds better. Guess I should clarify: as a straight ring mod, I think it is weak. The tracking\tune thing is a little wonky to me too.

In the video I start out the ring thing being driven with full gain off the moog. When I back off the drive, it just looses all cut and character...

Gotta love coinstar and recycling getting me more ring mods! I've gotta investigate it more ...that audio damage frequency shifter will probably out perform this I'm sure. I was more interested in the ring thing's sideband stuff anyway.

Yea, that LED! Dod includes free visual effects. I though the gonkulator + planetoid stuff at the end was pretty cool (within the context of the video...they worked well together...dod has the distortion and copilot has the filter). Gonkulator is actually pretty good for the $100 or so I spent. Planetoid too (got that via trade with the business lizard). I like the filter/gate on the planetoid more than I do on the Fairfield I think too...

The moog does sound sweet and nice here, eh (in respects to attitude)? Doesn't have the grit or noise of the others...it seems so "professional" or something haha.

YouTube is killing me on the bass...direct in and it all sounds muted on the low end.

That explains some things. Comes with a built-in monophonic synth. Don't know if it actually has a ring mod though.

I thought it sounded like a monosynth (I think I mentioned that some where)...with some kind of modulation (was thinking it was basic portamento and something else). That second touch lfo sounds really fast and could be it.

I think she is just an amazing player and pulls off some neat tricks and plays with the quirks of the organ and synth.

I guess it is some live use of the ems vcs3 (eno/fripp) ring mod...which is cool. I believe the vcs3 ring mod was based on the mullard tab101 transistor gate ring mod metal can ic...kinda like the Serge or or something (cept that was discrete). At least some of the ems had the tab101 (going to look into it more).
