Hey dude, haven't seen you around in a while. How you been? :)

And thanks, it really is an unique circuit. I think they sell them as kits for semi-cheap ($130 or something), might be something you'd be interested in. :thumb:

Yeah haven't been around for a while. Been a bit down and depressed so I don't socialise at all when I'm feeling like that that. I can be a bit of an arsehole when I feel like that.
Yeah $130? I didn't realise they were that inexpensive. Might have to look into one of those. :thumb:

 Glad to have you back.

Yeah, it costs twice as much if you buy a built up unit, so if you've got the soldering skills it would definitely be worth it.

Thanks mate
You can buy a kit version? That's awesome. Will definitely have to look into that. I wish more builders would offer kit versions, but I kind of understand why they don't.

I'm going to be building an oscillating fuzz for another forumite so I might have to see if he can demo it and post it in your thread here when he's got it, if that's ok with you that is?

Just checked out the 4ms website. Will definitely be getting one of them kits when I have some spare cash. Those things are awesome. They don't look all that difficult to built too. But I guess anything is easy when you know how. Some folks don't know one end of a soldering iron from the other until they burn their hand.

Yeah, sure, this thread is for all sorts of oscillating goodies. Feel free to post whatever you want here as long as it oscillates. Is this something you cooked up yourself? Sounds interesting (well, all you said was oscillating fuzz, but that's all it takes for me to slide off my chair in enjoyment).

And yeah, I know which end is which on the soldering iron, but that's as far as my knowledge goes. Would love to have the know-how to build some oscillating beasts, but I guess it'll have to wait until I'm eighty.

The fuzz is part kit build and part crazy mods found all over the internet that seem like they were meant to go together. It's a real crazy fucker. Right up your alley  I build them for people at cost because it's not mine to profit off and I really enjoy doing it.
I wish I could design circuits. I'm planning on buying a breadboard and starting to experiment. And I've been spending a lot of time lately reading and studying electronics online. Trying to get my head around reading schematics. I've been thinking of doing an online course in electronics if I can get government funding. If I can't I will just have to keep plugging along on my own.

Don't wait till you're 80 dude. Practice your soldering by making some patch cables and don't use them unless you're 100% satisfied. Then when you have some soldering experience, start buying some kits to build. Build something small like a Meathead or a Colorsound one knob clone.
I get my kits from Fuzzdogs Pedal Parts in the UK. Awesome kits at reasonable prices and shipped fast but that depends on the postal service in your country. He has a huge range of kits to build. Everything from boost, overdrive, distortion, fuzz, modulation, time based like delay and verb and also various utility pedals. He also adds tweaks to a lot of his kits so they are not straight up clones, but you can build them to stock specs if you want. But where's the fun in that.

undestandable, hope all is better.
I find people will give you (me, or anyone0 some slack during those times. In my experience (both when I'm like that and when others are too) yeah, someon might not be their bright shining selves and a little short and easy to frustration and all that. But something about it reads like they "aren't themselves" as opposed to that person is a genuine asshole.
In my times like that, i hate my own company, but it turns out that other people are far less annoyed with me.
anyway, if you can (I have a similar hole I crawl into, so just sharing experiences, not telling you what to do) try some small hanging out with close friends.
I actually had this happen over the weekend

Oscillation lets us feeeeeeel.

Looking forward to KaosCill8r Effects. The KaosCill8r is such a rad name for a fuzz too. I need to stop buying stuff for a while, but when I'm back on the oscillating horse I might call upon thine services.

And yeah, I probably should just start soldering more. I did my guitar electronics (badly), and I have a cheapo iron laying around. Might be a cool hobby. Circuit design is pretty far from whatever I usually do, but it would be neat to learn it and unleash more crazy into the world.

Hell yeah dude, I'll build you a KaosCill8r Fuzz anytime. Would love to get some of my fuzz craziness on your board.
By the way, do you own that Noise swash or was it a demo loaner? If not send one of the kits my way and I'll knock it together for you.

Thanks for the advice and kind words. The only rule of ILF is don't be an asshole. And I'm already not all that popular around here. So I definitely won't socialize here or anywhere when I'm in that headspace. A friend I had known for years once said the wrong thing when I was feeling like that. I had a pair of scissors in my hand at the time. Impulsively I just threw them at him hitting him in the face cutting him just below the eye :picard: Needless to say he is no longer my friend. One of my biggest regrets.

Awesome, will let you know. Oh, and I do own the Swash, but thanks for offering. 4ms were really great to deal with btw, big thumbs up for customer service. I was planning to buy the big, super tweaked version and they actually convinced me to go with the "little" guy because of my needs and lack of cv-controllable gear etc. Still not sure if I'll keep it, but it has some very neat tricks up its sleeve.

And we all feel like throwing scissors sometimes, dude. These things happen.

What a cool little box of sonic destruction and absolute mayhem. Weird sixties guitar tones with a sweet attack, and loads of bite when you dig in. And the oscillations are great - harsh and synth-like, blending nicely with the songs of your stringed instrument of choice. And expression control over oscillations always makes me happy, especially when it includes strange, filtery effects and cosmic screams from dying stars. And robots. Yes.

DAT decay, DEM highs, DOSE filter-like oscillations. Awesome sounding pedal, buddy! :!!!:

Awesome man! 86 has kinda been my go to fuzz. Really glad you got one! Just an amazing fuzz that simply does what it needs to and sounds great doing it (and bad ass playing!).
