As a clean boost (as I don't really like overdrive).

I use a Klon/klone more as a toneshaper/EQ/boost than as much of a drive (although, as you've noted, it's certainly more than capable). I run it last in my chain. I do think they're best hittin' an amp just on the edge of break-up. They work alright in other applications, just not as well.

A lot of people like gained-up klones as overdrives (placed much earlier in the chain than I prefer) though. :idk:

the kids in Melville told me about bud nannery - it was something about when you left your weed with somebody you trusted while you took your driver's exam or something :idk:
i think the practice faded with technological advances and the advent of nannery cams....

IMO, they are in certain circumstances.

I'd generally say "NO", but they can be. Definitely situational.

Not really for me. :idk:  As stated above, I don't like overdrive pedals though.

Yes, definitely under those circumstances. There are also other limited circumstances though. :idk:

they are good in some circumstances IE boosting an amp into high gain chug zone territory.

Does this mean I should try putting my Klone back on my board, at the end of the chain, as a boost?

It's worth a try. :idk: :snax:

just set it next to the board to try it out so you don't tear things up and then have to redo them again if you don't like the result. i'm all about minimizing the task load.

Fair enough. I realized I'd have to redo a spot towards the end if I did -- my volume pedal is the "end" right now and that thing is a pain and a half to remove because it has about an acre of velcro on the bottom. I do like the Klone, but it wasn't giving me what (at the time) I was after, last time I redid my gain stages.
