Here's my collection of solid state amps:
Peavey Mark IV Bass w/ Peavey 115 cab
Ampeg SS-150H w/ Marshall 1960A cab
Yamaha G-100 212 Mk II w/ CTS speakers
The Peavey and Ampeg and propped up on some old Altec cabinets that my dad used to use in his PA, but are now used to put the cabs at ear level.

I believe that peavey was robert smith's amp in the 80s - the cure had a great guitar sound - that ampeg is quite stylish

Pretty much this. People love to knock Mark IIIs and IVs but they still do more than most SS amps in the same class.

In that case I can confidently make the exact same statement about the Ampeg.

So you're the reason I've never been able to find another SS150. Never should have sold mine, thought I was doing a doombro a favor (at a brother deal price) and they turned around and flipped it within a week.

That's not a doombro at all. Piss on him.
and honestly I haven't found any reasonable priced SS150's in a long long time. I only have 3 of them and I got them all about a decade ago.

I bought mine for $160 shipped and sold it for the same. Only thing wrong with it was a couple missing knobs and the reverb (which I never used) crackled. I bought that maybe 4 years ago and sold it about 2 years ago. A forum member on another board said he was searching for one and it was his ultimate amp and I wasn't using mine much and had about 5 other amps at the time, so I sold it to him. Then his bassist told me he flipped it for twice the price within a week of getting it. I was seriously pissed off, especially because I asked him to sell it back to me if he ended up not wanting it. I thought I was just "paying it forward" so to speak, since I didn't strictly need it and he made it seemed like it was his gear unicorn.

yea that's the lamest fucking thing. Some people will go any length to try to come up with a quick buck.
