Well if they all exceeded the limit, in the UK we'd have to pay exactly the same total VAT (17.5% of stated value) and handling fees for each package separately... Unless we tried that special temporary import thing, where we may as well have it all as one. No idea about other countries though.

Dances with Monkeys, the idea would be to split up the package into ones small enough to slip through customs without the VAT raping and then combine them into Voltron once they're cleared, hence the who lives close together query by Blehndz.

I'd say Phanta's mercenary team would be the ideal option, ideal if they get the job done before the box gets returned again. We now know they're coming and all the paper work has been done already so you'd wrongly assume it would go smoother next time.

lol. ughhhhhhh. so, of COURSE i don't blame ANY of this on Phantasmo. but man. your customs people are DICKS. they didn't even come close to wrapping these pedals up. i was low on pedal boxes when i shipped them, so the only thing that was in it's own box was the Vagina 4545. i did this layering thing with WAY too much bubble wrap and newspaper to make sure there was at least 2 layers between each pedal and they couldn't move around in the box. they....... just pushed all the bubble wrap to the side and threw them in there loose. when the USPS guy handed the box to me you could hear shit clinking up against each other. the paint job on the TAFM is fucking WRECKED and a bunch of the others have moderate to big scratches. surprisingly, only knob to get busted was the chickenhead on the PPB. it got the middle of it punched out. but i have a few of those laying around i think.

the Vajjy 40000000000 is ok, and that's really aesthetically the only one i was worried about. but i havna plugged them up to make sure everything works right. been a bit sick which saps my will to do productive stuff.

again, i'm still down to try this again. maybe figuring out the weight/value limit and is for it not to be bitch to deal with and then hack the selection down to that would be a good idea?

I think 14 was narrowed down based on what everybody wanted to be included, it's just that everybody wants completely different things. Phanta's mercenary team would be the best option as it's guaranteed to work without paying taxes, just the fee. I'd be willing to pay the fee to Phanta beforehand, so he isn't out any money incase German customs decides to sneak the package back out to you.

If Phanta doesn't want to go through with that, then we could narrow the package down to maybe 8 orso and declare a value that would allow entry into the UK. Their HMRC site listed GBP 270, which is over $425-450. The über tight Germans didn't think much of the value of your complete package so half of that would most likely pass for $400 or less. That's probably the best alternative.

Also I agree that going through Cologne is probably the best way, since now I've got it all figured out and know how to do this right from the start. I feel shitty because this amounted to such a mess with the package getting sent back and the pedals damaged that I'm weighed down by my conscience. But probably the best way to do this is through me because a) I know what to do now and b) I could redeem my messing this up to everybody. Well, I didn't mess it up really, but I still played a part and feel responsible.

But narrowing it down to less peds would probably be a good idea. The mercenaries can only guarantee freeing it for 3 months, which is quite a tight schedule. And I alone could spend 3 months with those 14 pedz. There is a possibility to extend that time span once they are in the country, but I don't know how easy that is and if it's guaranteed to work. Neither do I know if I have to present them to the customs in order to do it or something.

Sounds good to me, and it's really not your fault dude, none of us could have seen this coming. Less pedz is fine with me since they're all cool.

My top picks would be: Particle, Oxide, 4545 (although if you're worried about it getting damaged I totally understand not sending it again) and Second Voice, and I already have sparkles+tafm. But really I'm cool with anything anyone else wants!

spent some more time with them today and the only damage is cosmetic. so, not a big deal at ALL. again, only knob that busted was on the PPB, and that's easy to replace.

Sparkles and Oxide are already with Phantasmohugovitch, so they're definitely in, it's between...
