Re: BUILD YR OWN SUPERGROUP!
drone/ambient band:
Vocals/ Guitar - Joni Mitchell
Guitar/ Audible Sneers - Rowland S. Howard
Bass/ Drunken Howls when required - Joe Preston
Background Vocals/Drums/Additional Percussion - Mo Tucker, Georgia Hubley, Mimi Parker
Skronk:
Vocals - Richard Hell, James Chance
Guitar - Sonny Sharrock, Robert Quine, Bill Frisell
Piano - Thelonius Monk
Bass - Mingus
Sax - Albert Ayler (tenor), Eric Dolphy (alto)
Drums - Elvin Jones
Spoken Word - Charles Bukowski
this one would probably last one gig if that, but it would be glorious.

I don't remember Lester Bowie ever playing violin, dubs.
I know all those guys were multi-instrumentalists, but could you point me to some examples of his violin playing?

If you paid him enough, I think he might go for that.

sorry, that was a memory error...i was thinking of Leroy Jenkins, who was also an AACM member and played on "Rawalpindi Blues" on Escalator Over The Hill. sometimes it's hard to keep all the AACM guys sorted out.

Re: BUILD YR OWN SUPERGROUP!
Yeah, dubkitty, somebody needs to keep you in check. (Especially since one of the tenets of the AACM is multi-instrumentalism.)
Love jazz fiddle. Been listening to some Revolutionary Ensemble lately.
