Haha yeah, Kev, I still don't have a 2x12 cabinet! I'm gonna order myself a Traynor one this week though!

Christian, you feel free to ask whatever the heck you want buddy! But no, there's not going to be any Elements that don't have the expression pedal input. It's nothing to add that at all, just a jack to solder and screw in, no big whoop at all. We've already ordered 500 boxes with the hole pre-drilled, so that exp jack ain't going anywhere! *smile* (It's not a life-altering feature, just a cool trick for a distortion pedal to do)

As for powering it, I suggest a nice regulated 9VDC. Your One Spot will be fine and daisy chaining shouldn't be a problem although you know how that goes, it's a problem for some. You can use a higher voltage if you like but for the most distortion/saturation I suggest 9VDC. 9VDC rules, you can't go wrong with it.

I hope Postes-Canada lock-out wont delay the process... :(
I can't wait to get my Elements.
I'm on vacation next week (would have been a great time for a new pedal)... but I doubt it will be ready (lol).

Don't worry... I'm still having fun with the 4Eyes!

So everyone keeps asking if I need to pee because I'm doing this little nervous dance all the time, and I have to explain that it's not my bladder that's full, I'm just really excited about this pedal coming out called The Elements and I'm really pumped that its coming out soon. They usually don't talk to me much after that...

SWEETISH. That's exactly how I'm gon' DO IT.

A final question then... I'm not familiar with the soft-switching thing... is that true bypass or some other kind of switching? How does that affect tone when the pedal is off?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it is still true bypass, just accomplished with a different footswitch type

No worries, Syl, all the stuff to build the Elements is coming by UPS. Flippin' strike though, it's chapped my hide a bit for sure. If I may rant a bit, we do all our shipping online.. I prepare all the documents online and then Tanya drops them off at the post office. They only have to scan the boxes, takes two seconds. Our postal carrier doesn't bring any packages to us, he takes them all to the post office and then leaves us a delivery card saying he attempted delivery. He's lied every single time since he started in December, never attempted delivery once, and those packages are all sent by Priority Mail and should be delivered to our door, so Tanya ends up picking them up every time.

Between the two of us we do it all for our local post office and yet these wankers are on strike because they want more money and less technology (starting wage is $23 an hour). Canada Post has profited millions of dollars every year for the last 15 years and yet they've halted all postal service nation wide to get more money. And all this postal bs wasn't even mentioned in the federal elections a couple months ago, that bugs me too. Whew, thanks for indulging the rant!

Relay switching is still true bypass.. a relay is a mechanical switch just like a stomp switch, except it's driven by a voltage rather than a foot. When you hit a soft touch switch you send a low pulse to a micro that outputs a high or a low depending on the last state. That signal is driven by a transistor to the relay. It's digital mechanical switching, true bypass, with a really long life cycle, over a million cycles on/off. I use non-latching relays so if you lose power to the pedal it reverts to the bypassed state.

So basically it's a flux capacitor. Got it.

Prom is long gone, I'm an old man now.
Do you have all the part to build the Elements now?

No sir, they're not even shipped yet.. but when they do they'll come by UPS and they'll be pretty fast. It's so close too, I was expecting the boxes to ship this week but they didn't.. means they will next week for sure though!

I though I would meet with the Elements during my vacation. :grumpy:

Hey! Hey! The wait will worth it. :yay:
And anyway, I'm still trying to sell my 3Xfx V1 Buzz Bomb (this nice pedal need a new home doesn't get much attention here... unfortunately).
