The mute disappears after like a second.
Someone switched around the monitors on one of the desks.
Goblins. There be goblins in here.
OK, I just don't want to be here now.

Same thing happens to me
every time I cook with onions.
At first it's an almost heavenly aroma, then it grows to be absolutely disgusting and I want to set my hands on fire and peel away the skin to get the smell out.

I'm glad you're alive though. Better broke than dead.

Well, my Mom has been having some digestive issues for the last year. The doctors haven't been able to figure anything out, so they did an endoscopy today and found a bunch of scar tissue that may or may not be cancer. We'll find out in a week or so if it is. 2016 seems to just be the "fuck you and everyone you love" year.

There's the inverse, too: people who reply all and really shouldn't. Just answer the originator's query that has no relevance to anyone else and leave the rest of us alone. We're trying to get work done. Worse, still: reply-all to the whole business unit in what is a sustained conversation between just two people with read receipt requests.

Aaaaand my parents have to put down their elderly orange tabby this week because he's having thyroid issues and isn't responding to meds. He's a delightfully goofy cat, and I hate to see him go.
Great. Grand. Wonderful.
Fuck everything.
