He's also one of those... uh, you know that thing when you're a young gay person, and a lot of media has trouble showing openly gay people who get happy endings. And then you're really hard up for any representation when you're a tween, so a single possibly gay moment turns into "they're definitely in perfect love forever."

I have seen maybe two movies where a character being gay is not the conflict of the film. FOX AND HIS FRIENDS and KABOOM. Both are pretty awesome movies.
