$1,000 thrift store find. Got a set up and a new set of strings and it looks practically new. I looked up the serial number last night and it was made in 1985:

Here's some more Ric and MIJ P-Bass love
The Ric is a little something my buddy likes to leave with me. No complaints here, it's one of the best basses I've played over the years. The P-Bass is an early 80s SQ serial Squier. FugiGen Gakki I think? Very much like daseb's MIJ P-Bass in regard to the neck being wide but a flat D shape, it's perfect for me as well. I had always wanted a vintage black on black P-Bass and when I played this bass I knew I had to have it. I traded another MIJ P-Bass for it, a '51 Reissue with a neck that was just too big for my hands.
