Yeah that's a great part of a great picture. You can see the original/full thing here:

I worked for NNA Tapes [nnatapes.com] (record label this was put out on) this summer. Super cool stuff:

New thing. Been sitting on the song itself for about 3 weeks before I got it down today.

Our band just released our debut EP. It was recorded a year ago and we have changed into a very different (and I would hope, though I can't exactly be an unbiased judge on this, better) band in that time, but we decided to release it anyway because we recognized we needed to get something out there.

Also, we're pubescent teens, not adults with unusually high geddy lee voices. (No disrespect to rush.)

Some songs I dug, some songs not so much: skipped the Muse track because the source material is decidedly
not my jam but it seemed like a pretty good/faithful cover. Obviously we have divergent tastes. Really liked EverGreen, the intro. There was a pretty tasty Wata-esque lead at the end of one of those songs that was bitchin', the drums sounded really nice, esp. on the tracks where they're 'supposed' to sound programmed (at least to my ears). Low end is mixed pretty far back which makes it sound kinda cool, and generally the album sounds really good, from a sonix perspective.

I was more onboard with the Jack White-y songs than the Eddie Vedder-y songs. Given that there's three of each, you could've told me this was a split and I would'nt have been the wiser. That's not really a good thing or a bad thing, but it is a thing.

Sort of funny you'd say that. we're a trio and we all write. Pretty much what happens is one of us comes in with a general idea and loose song structure and as a band we refine it until we get something we all like. For some reason the other two members of the band wanted to put the track list almost exactly in chunks of who wrote the main idea of the song, which led to, like you said, pretty much a split album (which like you said isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I didn't really like the idea), since we have somewhat different styles (being different people with different influences and whatnot) when we write songs. I'm assuming the first two (and obviously the last song since its just a live version of the first) songs were the jack white-y ones and tracks 3-5 were the eddie vedder-y ones?

Correct, although the Vedder-y bits sound more like Pearl Jam than the White-y bits sound like the Stripes or any of his bands.

Yep, that makes sense then. last year when we recorded it our guitarist (who wrote the first 2) was listening to almost purely white stripes-y things and me and the drummer (I wrote 3 and 4 and he wrote 5) were mostly listening to pearl jam-y things. Now I think that as we all listen to more of a mix of genres our songs is less of a stark contrast to each other depending on who wrote them. our drummer is listening to a lot of jazz (and playing in a couple jazz bands around town) in addition to punk/grunge/alt rock, our guitarist is still listening to mostly jack white-y stuff but a lot of other things too, and I'm actually listening to a shit ton of hip hop (I'm interested to see how, if at all, that could find its way into my writing) in addition to punk/grunge/alt rock.
Anyway, I listened to your song. I have no idea what it was (is it drone? All I know about drone is a few of the things used to make them which I only found out through the B/S/T on here) but I really liked it. I've always wanted to get into that sort of thing and this makes me want to again.

thanks man. That means a lot.

We're actually working on recording another 3 song EP which will probably be done recording in maybe a month (busy schedule with school and finals and all that) and will probably be mixed and mastered and ready to release with the artwork and cd's printed in another month or so after that. I'll post it on here as soon as its out.

Thanks a lot for the nod to Owwl, buddy! it reminds me we have to get a lot of stuff released! But we're both a little caught up in our other projects, that's slowing things down considerably.
