I mean, you'd think most people would at least have heard of the Fuzz Factory, and know of the existence of oscillating fuzzes. Obviously not. And the sounds he's making with the Robot sound like a ring mod roughly tuned to pitch, which I'd also assume is a sound pedal peeps would be somewhat familiar with. But yeah, again, obviously not.

I hate that usual saying "I don't know how this can be used for music", though. Does music really have to be reduced to a few standard sounds, where everything out of the "ordinary" is unusable? People can listen to whatever they want, but to not acknowledge a history of experimental music seems kind of silly. Then again, I guess its not cool to fault people for not being familiar with weird shit.

Look at fucking Billy Gibbons. That dude can make any pedal sound like the blues because he is a rad guitarist and he loves the gnar gnar. And he's interested in crafting sounds he likes, and not chasing his tail in an endless search to "cop SRV".
