Yeah I mean there is minor correctness to some of the points here (insofar as vapid social media posturing of people who are more or less unwittingly neoliberal is a real phenomenon or whatever), but that was about as mangled a use of ye old slicey thinking as I've seen in a real long fucking time.

As someone who fits this description, I have.
My excuse is that it's pretty easy to wade into it and state a position, and because I'm too lazy to put my bass back together for a "let me show you" kinda thread.

Mostly the latter, really.

Did you sleep well? Islam is not a country. Muslim is not a race. But oh my, the R word!? You probably believe in magic, witchcraft and voodoo too right?
Uhhh, yeah. You're either an idiot or a shit troll, in either case whatever. Right Wing Reactionary trolls aren't even good at trolling. You think ruffling some feathers by acting the way all of this shit society acts is really something, don't you?
You think regurgitating Marxist talking points is really something don't you? I bet you live somewhere like 95% white Vermont where you're safe from all the racists. How would a liberal be a good troll right now? You guys are holding the megaphone, shouting people down, getting people fired, ruining people's lives. If you are in control, you can't be a troll.

Besides, I already said I'm not right wing. I think it's pretty much all a joke. But it's sad at the same time that people are becoming such robots - blank stare, look at me, I'm a liberal, that means I'm a good person. No it doesn't! You just want to tell me how to think and what to say. It's cult bullshit.

wait you have to have a specific worldview to be a troll?

Isn't trolling what makes you a troll?

Sure, but there is a big difference between the leftist, anarchist, and marxist critiques of liberalism and social justice, and the more "mainstream" or right wing critiques of liberalism and social justice. Mostly, that the latter usually comes from an acute anxiety about the generalization of the push-backs against racism and misogyny, and a really broad misunderstanding of how varied and fractured the left is.

The amazing thing is, understanding these positions as complex and varied is really interesting and exciting, as soon as one can get over their own victim complex.

Yes it does dawg. No rattlesnakes = no rattlesnake bites. No Muslims in San Bernardino = no Islamic terrorism in San Bernardino. So fucking obvious.

You're joking right? Please tell me you're joking. Did I miss the joke elsewhere in the thread?
I'm not a comedian. I play a strat and piece of shit old hondo strat with fuzz pedals and it is loud. I found this site because of my love for fuzzy guitar noise. I'm just not gulping down what's being fed to me by the arbiters of taste controlling the message on our TVs and computer screens.

I had a Pakistani friend in high school who was one of the coolest, most unassuming motherfuckers I've ever met. But his family was non-practicing. I'm very wary about Muslims in the West, as any Westerner should be. Anybody heard of Rotherham:

I think engaging in any form of discussion revolving around politics, religion, or economics just makes you a troll.

Yes, yes I know the left is a coalition of every possible fringe group under the sun. And then the right just wants the left to leave them the hell alone mostly.

And the left doesn't promote people having a victim complex? Ha! That's fucking rich.

Also, as someone with an anarchist brand on my arm I must say, it's perhaps the most asinine thing ever for an anarchist to be a leftist. State control is the most un-punk thing on the planet.

Branding yourself with anarchist imagery has to run a close second, though.

I bet this guy watched that movie "The Anarchist Cookbook" and thought it was great. SLC Punk totally changed his life.
