I beg to differ on the pedal board but we can always let people decide
Cab wise I dont yet have the cabs so for now your still champion there.
Yeah if you scored the EGC you'd have the trifecta, I just can't justify spending that much cash on a guitar that I'd either be scared to take on the road, or would let sit at the house barely played.
I keep myself to a 500$ limit on guitars so I won't go broke trying to replace one if something happens on the road.Hmmmm well once your's is all wired up why don't we have an "all pedals on competition" and see who comes out on top?
Yes, yes i am. Plus I still have time to try and hustle up 2 ampeg 8x10's, an SVT CL, and a set of analog bass pedals.

I am very much in that same boat. I want an aluminum/ steel guitar so bad, but I just can't bring myself to do it.
This guitar gives me boners aplenty.

I'd like to mess around with an Avenger and Lucky 13 more. An old friend that is a total fuzz lord just switched up from a silver Fender to an Avenger and he's getting it good just putting an ICBM into the cleaner input. Supposedly those Luckys are just glassy clean and that's intriguing for pedal use. I tried and tried all day with all the dirt pedals I had at the time to get one sounding good with my SLO and it's just pointless. Anything in the cleaner channel just sounded like some lesser stepchild version of the drive channel and pedals in the drive channel just sounded like ass. At least compared to that sweet sweet natural SLO overdrive sound. I'm really making myself want to play my SLO again just by talking about it.
And HAY NICK! I had a bill that popped up and that's why I was all gung ho to sell the Henge. But since it hasn't yet sold and it looks like I can (barely) handle the bill I'm going to try rolling in some 12au7's. I'd really like to use the thing and that tube rolling was a good suggestion. I'll let you know how it goes.
I know it's not the same amp, and I know conky has different results, but I never liked dirt pedals with my Soldano Avenger. The amp dirt on its own was more than enough. Anything added ruined it by taking away definition and aggression.
Also, I'm glad you're giving the Stonehenge another shot. You'll kick yourself if you sell and regret not giving the lower gain tubes a try.
Ancient Astronaught wrote:It doesn't erk me, to each their own my friend! It is way simpler and does cut down on cables and setup time, I just like my delays and verb post eq so that I'm no EQ'ing them as well, just personal preference.
That's why I'm not having a loop in my Dunwich (well, the first one anyway

). I wanted something that was easier to set up live, and having two less cables will get me that.

Probably. I would love to have it with an aluminum neck, in baritone. Just not with that ugly ass EGC headstock... I'd want something classy (i am such a sucker for the gibson headstock).
I don;t mind weight. I'm a big guy, I can take it. (I judge it based on my brother's baritone les paul- weighs a fuck ton, but sounds just as beastly as it weighs. )

I'm intrigued by those Avedissian p/u's, seem's pretty killer and he seem's down to experiment with crazy ideas.

Can't blame ya dude! I used heat shrink to make a non-separable 2 cable fx loop snake out of some mogami cable i had lying around and with the FX loop on the front of my VB-2 it literally takes 10-15 seconds to setup my loop. It's really not that big of a hassle if you set up everything correctly ahead of time. But it does offer up more possibilities of problems in a live scenario, as it adds extra steps to trouble shooting if your signal drops out and more stuff to carry with you (and this has happened to me so I also carry around a spare long patch cable so I can run all FX pre amp if absolutely necessary). For me though since i use delay and verb on every song I play guitar on with DE it's worth it, but if your base tone doesn't rely on FX that would "normally" (and i use that term loosely, as its very subjective) go through the FX loop then its totally not worth it.

I know this is way late since the damn thread spreads so fast. It's not a modern melody maker it's the originaly 1965 ones with the double cuts and the funky body shape. I guess I may as well wait for a CP jag.

I have the old Dunwich logo on one Emperor, and on the new one coming the new Wizard logo on there.
Did you all ready order the new Emperor?
yea. Cant get etching on a used one and my spec for look is fairly hard to find. Boils down to aesthetics again. I could of course get a cheap Emperor used. I did get a nice price tho.
Just make sure those dick holes get your order right. I sent them my original emails detailing how I wanted my first cabs to look with a note saying I wanted the new one to look just like them, wired up the same way and everything. I was redundant with my specs in the next email confirming which they repeated back to me. Then when I get them the cab isn't wired up right, and the grill cloth is sideways. When I let them know about it they told me that they would fix it for free when I play Chicago.
I'm from Georgia motherfucker!
Which reminds me... I've got a little bit of cash now, I need to hit you up with an order to fix the grill cloth. You can still get the black basket weave right?
