I tried to start a legit affordable (<$100) Klone comparison thread a while back, and it concluded with a wet fart. No one wanted to help those of us with beer budgets and solid state amps to know moar blooz toanz.
I wonder if there would be similar reception to a thread comparing the 3pdt Zendrive clone with the real deal.

I've actually used a real Centaur with a solid state amp.
Doesn't work that well. (Not that I'd discourage you from trying it though.) There're other pedals that sound much better into a solid state amp.

The stock Klon + solid state = poo equation doesn't surprise me, though I was thinking modded variants of the same circuit may behave differently, especially if random, cheap components are in use. A similar logic applied to various big muff iterations.

What is a Centaur anyway? just some sort of dirty boost?
