Just found out my new space hasn't been inspected yet so no one can move in. They left that detail out when collecting rent. Besides a lot of angry musicians with no place to store their gear for a week, this means my setup stays in boxes until I have a room again.
I'll still complete a track for this but I'm not very happy about the sudden change of plans.

That's fine (as far as this is concerned, that's super shitty as far as real life goes, condolences there). This is a fairly flexible deadline: I'd much rather have the submissions completed in as timely a fashion as is possible then to let everyone tinker until the end of time and never end up putting the release out as 'finished'.

To be clear, not unhappy about deadline plan change, that's cool. Unhappy I have to switch up a lot of what I'm doing.
Date change to middle of the week was a good idea.

Finished (I think)! Unlike my sample, it's fairly short. I was planning to make it a lot longer, particularly to give me a chance to incorporate more samples, but as I was putting it together I just felt a natural ending point when I got there. Can't ignore instincts.

If you guys can email me your final pieces at the same addy you used to submit the samples that would be awesome. I'll start in on sequencing once we have most of them (which should be by this time next week,

)

And From Stockhausen:
Karlheinz Stockhausen wrote:"Let's immediately jump to the extreme: if you take a Beethoven symphony and you speed it up, and you are able to speed it up in such a way that you do not transpose the pitch, and we would compress it in time to such an extent that it would last just one second, then you would get a sound that has a particular color, a particular timbre, a particular shape, and it's inner life, which is so highly compressed in time, is what Beethoven has composed, and it has a characteristic sound compared to, say, the compression of a piece of Gagaku music from Japan. If we take any given sound and spread it out, expand it in time to such an extent that it would last 20 minutes, a sound which lasted, when we recorded it, one second or two seconds, then we will have a musical piece -- and it's form, it's large form in time, would be an expansion of the micro-acoustic structure, the time structure, that was in the sound. And there we are."
I'd love an extra week. I've been behind the 8 ball on this since it actually became a thing and I'm boned for free time before the 11th. Gotta write and memorise lyrics for our gig then. Sorry for being shit. But yeah, happy to let things roll without me, or I'll contribute a week late. pre-emptive

for myself.

Yeah bro, but not at the expense of this actually getting done, know what I mean?

Could use a couple extra days. Work has been insane. Got a new director and GM, both of whom are psycho's. Serious 12-14 hour days 6 days a week the past month. Middle management is to bunch of waggle sacks.

I may need to join Goroth—I ended up having a crazy week. Working on it now, digging what I'm doing but I don't wanna rush and turn something in that I'm not happy with.
