sounds great! I do have a good friend who I'll eventually be skating with again (we used to skate back in the day) but obviously that's a little trickier at the moment...

I think the key to aging gracefully in stuff like this is to make sure your bag doesn't change much from year to year. 13-year-olds who kickflip 50-50 are passe. 40-year-olds who kickflip 50-50 are gods.

I'm not old enough or good enough to coast like that  but yeah definitely, my goals are not to become super awesome but just to build up a fun bag of tricks and then keep doing them to have fun. Not to build up to crazy shit that'll break my bones.

What about a 45 year old? When does it become embarrassing?

Also...made this shitty video for the fun of it...not great skating...but it is what it is...

Kooks Only No Locals! The only source of embarrassment comes from yourself. As long as you're standing sideways and having fun (even if "having fun" is trying the same fucking trick 5000000 times) why would you ever feel bad about it?

But we're lucky enough to be of an era when the actual OGs are mostly still alive and kicking (save early deaths from hard lifestyles etc) and you can follow them all on Instagram because it's still a comparatively young thing. I remember taking my dad's old board from the early '60s out when I was a kid to mess around with, and that was straight-up roller skates stuck to a fin-shaped piece of wood.

Excellent footage, intense jealousy (my kickflips are probably gone I'm sure).

Thanks dudes.

Im not embarrassed at all, i have way too much fun to care. But i do regret the 10+ year break i had from skating. I see a lot of people around my age still skating, and the ones that kept skating are sooo incredibly smooth and solid...probably do the same tricks but they looks good doing it.

Yeah I massively regret taking that decade off as well. :thumb: But the cool thing is we're doing it again and having fun haha
