Re: New Korg Analog Grooveboxes!!!!!?????
sooooooo..... just as a heads up thingie, JRR got back to me, they got 20 bundles in and shipped them out to people that preordered and paid the full amount. i only put down the minimum originally, so i'm paying the rest off this weekend.
they said they have more coming in, because they placed so many orders they're getting a bigger chunk of the first to ship.
MOOP.

Re: New Korg Analog Grooveboxes!!!!!?????
got mine yesterday. behndy you got yours??
the bass and keys are really cool. the beats is kinda meh. the kick drum is BOSS, but the snare is like non existant. more like a rimshot than a snare.
cmon korg gimme FAT NOISE BLAST.

Ah, darn, I already thought that about the snare sound when I watched the video's but it's a bummer having it confirmed from someone who's had hands on experience with it.
The Bass and maybe even the Keys also might be interesting for me though.

Re: New Korg Analog Grooveboxes!!!!!?????
yea i guess that the snare is a big gripe w/ ppl from what i gathered on the internet. i wonder if there is a way to mod the noise decay time for more decay?
the snare decay only controls the pitched sound, not the noise part....which makes no sense for a snare....
i am gunna sample the beats this weekend, and flip it i think.
snare drum is just as important as bass drum yo.
FWIW, all 3 boxes were alot of fun jamming on my coffee table.
but the beats seems like the least useful in the long run of the 3.
the bass is really dope that you can have a separate sequence for each OSC, or stack them. (u can get some pseudo poly lines going if u want w/ this)
and the keys is awesome too, great sounds. u can get bassy on it as well. great for chords and mono lines!
detuned sounds are easy to gettt. com truise shit.
at first, i was surprised that it doesn't have the traditional sequencer like the bass, but after playing with it, i think i like it that way.
you can get some cool unintentional patterns on it, and cool like fast arps in between your lines by playing sloppy.
plus u can elongate the pattern to 2 and 4 bars which is neat.
both have a pretty wide range of sounds u can coax, but i would say that in the sound dept, the keys is the most versatile.

Re: New Korg Analog Grooveboxes!!!!!?????
hurm. i was most escited for the Beats. cool stuf on the other two though.
nope. havna got mines yet. but i only fully paid for it about a week or two back? i thought they were filling in the order they were placed, like an email to let us know they were in, pay now please. but they told me they were shipping out fully paid preorderd first.... so i think i might have kicked myself down the queue a bit by lagging?
looking forward to them though.
