I have GAS to mod my Gretsch.

Jazzmaster pickup in either the bridge or neck.
Same goes for a P90.
Then a bridge lipstick pickup in the middle.
I'd then have a master tone switch along with a Jag-type switching system. One switch would be a kill switch, the next to turn on the middle pickup, the third to cut only the bridge and neck pickup.

Since I have a tone switch, I'd use the extra knob for bass contour (a la Reverend Guitars).

Then I'd end with the least important, perhaps a refinishing.

OH, AND I'D MAKE A CUT IN THE BACK FOR EASIER MODDING :facepalm:
