Soooooo my friend let me borrow his copy of witcher 2. I was absolutely blown away by how much this game didnt live up to the hype. Honestly I didnt enjoy it at all. The gameplay is boring and the level design is awful. Its not that its that much different from any other swords and sorcery fare....its just so linear it hurts. All aspects of the game are really one dimensional and only serve to further the story, or what few sidequests the game throws at you. The game world which many tout as being "epic and expansive" is really just a bunch of throwaway dungeons connected to hub towns. The towns really dont have much to do and add to the linear nature of the game. Graphics arent bad but they didnt blow my skirt up either. The story, for me, was not engaging at all. I really could have given a shit less about geralt or any of the series of interchangeable supporting characters the game throws at you. The way they force sex scenes into the script is laughable and gradeschool. Honestly you get the impression that this is a game by virgins for virgins. Fuck this pile of garbage.

Only played about a hour give or take. I got the impression that it was more or less a movie that you occasionally walk around in.

I have to agree that the game was wayyy too linear, story was alright to me and I enjoyed some parts. I could give a shit about the sex scenes though, if I wanted to watch softcore porn, I would on my own time. Combat got super repetitive right as I was getting into it and some bosses you could not lock onto for some reason :idk: Made combat super frustrating at times. I can't say it was a total pile of garbage, but yes it certainly was overrated :thumb:

It plays like Super Mario 64 did the first time I played it. Nintendo has won back my heart completely.

that's funny, I just started playing mine again this week...working on the Luigi quest thingy

Witcher was so awful I got rid of it. It probably played much better on the PC, it seems like they didn't really consider the console user experience at all.
Oh and it was pretty f'ing boring and I was a good 10-15 hours in.

Playing Kingdoms Of Amalur now, it's like a single player WoW so far...not bad, but not amazing.
I'll play it until I get something better. Or maybe I'll finally work on finishing New Vegas

I just got my SNES out the other day... can't remember if I posted this or not, but I HAD to play Star Fox. Also picked up NBA Jam Tourney Edition and WWF Royal Rumble. All excellent games.

Looking forward to E3 next week. I don't really play that often anymore, but I always like checking out what Nintendo is doing. Video games have passed their prime, but it's in my blood.

Finally got round to playing portal 2 co-op with a friend, and it's great fun! I'm impressed how much work they clearly put into what's probably a minor part of the game for most people.

One of my friends has played 80 hours of Diablo 3 within the past 7 days. This other dude I play games with sometimes has 108 hours.
HOLY FUCK.

Just finished 3 for the first time as I skipped it in the past, awesome (the new downpour was also pretty good I thought).
I had to stick to the original voices option on 2... yeah they weren't done great but changing it just seems wrong.

I dunno... I still love resi as well, the game cube remake of 1 was pretty good I thought.
