Yep, tried starting up again last year and realized my fearless teenage nature had disappeared. Well, either that or I've developed an appreciation for possessing functional limbs. :idk:

My biggest fear about learning to skate is that I break a wrist and can't play bass. Not playing for 6 weeks or whatever would drive me insane.

I just ride longboards...parking garages and other hilly areas are good times and I don't have to worry about breaking three fingers and my testicles in the same instant.

just learn how to fall and that's about it. take some japanese martial arts class and you just won't care anymore.
you'll even start looking for cool places to practice your falling
no really, it's awesome!
totally invulnerable to fall damage (if done right obv)

I kind of want a long board for this purpose, but compared to a regular board, I feel like my feet are sunk in concrete trying to turn.
But long boards are generally smoother and faster.

I need a compromise.

my break was from longboarding haha. i do parking garages and slides and all kinds of dumb shit, but thats not even how i broke my leg. i was going to my apartment after class and some girl walked across the sidewalk because she wasn't paying attention to anyone around her. i swerved so i didn't hit her, and my back wheel went off the edge of the sidewalk, and i did some sort of twisty loud breaky thing. she stayed with me and called the ambulance because my foot was hanging, and we happen to have 3 classes together, and now we're friends :thumb:
