need to work on a whole motor holder so i can hang it with no stress on the leads
What module are you using the control the motor? I was checking out some of the Bastl stuff today but curious about other options...
Yeah, those Bastl are on my radar. Look really great
I'm using a Gieskes 317VCPreA. Aside from the VCA and CV control on voltage output sections, it also has 1v/Oct tracking on playing cassettes you need to prepare first. For the built modules he includes a walkman with powersupply modded to work with the module too. The tracking is incredible..but so is just playing a regular tape and messing with the speed. I just happened to have an old dead dvd/vcr combo laying around and took out that motor, and the fan, wired them both up. Loving it I ordered direct from Gijs, super smooth and he was really quick with responses and with answering any questions i had.
Ooookay that Gieskes 317 looks the business! Basically doing what I was thinking of doing (driving a cassette tape motor) but the 1V/Oct tracking looks like an ace addition!

After a few hours of experimentation on the first day of my vacation, I arrived at the following pedal order for a noize board:
Holowon Static Egg>Frederic Effects Perky Harlot>Hotone Skyline Krush>Noisereap Nr1 Asstone>Dongeomac Green Ringer Clone>Fuzzhugger V2 Algal Bloom>Atomic Amplifire (Zoom MS-70 CDR in the effects loop).
I rotated Ampeg Scrambler, Fender Blender, and HM-2 clones in an out of the mix, and decided upon the pedals seen above.
Quick little recording, wish the low end came out a little more defined, but whatever, rumbled like mad in the room. Super washy and resonant fun. The last notes are me just hitting the shit out of the guitar.

Sounds great! Really nice, and love the Misty Cave so much

I finally managed to make the POG1 vs Mini POG comparison i wanted to.
Used both of the pedals alone and in multiple points of the effect chain, in a couple of different amps (even tried it in an old solid-state Peavey just to see the worst case scenario).
As i was told, i found out that the Mini POG is good just as typical octave sound without any “plus”, moreover, even with the controls at their top, it doesn’t even get close to the output volume of the POG1, and it is really less sensitive to small variations on the controls except from 9 o’clock to 3 o’clock. For what i need it to it’s really too clean, and it doesn’t get angry at all if you push it a bit over the edge, which is one of the things i love of the older version.
Probably this thing was noticed by 324billion pedal users before me, but i like to hear it and try it by myslef when it comes to a pedal this important in my setup.
anyway i was hoping the MINI could do what i needed it to. Now i’ve got to find a way to make the old big one fit in the small board, FUCK.

Most of my stuff is packed up for our move next week. All I have out right now is Jag->fuzz->G100 1x12. Nice change of pace for me and it sounds awesome.

Yeah I was really excited with the results, running granular into granular is the best Using CV with the particle is awesome too, much more interesting than an expression pedal. Particle is like the eventide/strymon pedals and only safely works with 3.3V max...or 3V not sure just google that to check if you try it.

If you want a small module to safely connect pedals and modular, both for audio and CV, the ALM SBG could be useful for you :
The top section is a send/return loop that handles converting signal levels from modular to line level and back, and the bottom section clamps voltages to safe range for pedals (0-3V and 0-5V). It doesn't scale the CV, it just makes sure they stay in a range that should be safe for pedals.
Sorry for probably making you want to get more modules everytime I post something

Awesome Please don't hesitate to offer any and all suggestions, its a pretty dense forest I'm trying to wade into. I've been saving up to get the xaoc batumi you mentioned

First tryout of The Scrap Yard (modded Electro Faustus Blackfly). I think it will be a fun project once I work out the kinks and the layout.

I hope my Instagram comment didn't come off like I think it sounds like garbage. Just meant that it easily creates the mental image. Sounds quite nice, actually!
