they're showing up in shopping malls and television commercials and stuff as well. i didn't even notice until my gf pointed it out that the commercial with the adorable little boys/hockey team had The Pogues as the music track. i guess the unifying principle was missing teeth

Is that the one with that "Let me Go" song? I've been wondering who that was...so it's the Pogues, eh?

Of Dexter? no, fuck that, that was nothing

Of The Office? nooo :(

i hate when i'm watching something and it gets me down because it shows me how shitty life sometimes can be... i'm glad series and movies are like that, but i hate having my mood turned cold

Not a fan of Ken Loach then I take it?
And definitely stay away from small/indie/arthouse Scottish films. The most cheerful part is usually when the main character, a violent unemployed alcoholic, dies of rabies after being beaten bloody by a gang of HIV+ junkies and left in a ditch where he is robbed and set on fire. The rest is usually totally depressing.
Ratcatcher
Young Adam
Red Road
My Name Is Joe
Neds
Sweet Sixteen

There are more, but it's too depressing to try to remember.
