What pickup do you use that won't feedback when stuff gets gainy?

I've got one of the Fishman bridge piezo pickups that we ran into an end-pin jack. As long as I am conservative with the pre-amp gain I give the mando up front throwing in extra gain for boost or fuzz hasn't been an issue.

do you have a preamp on the mando or just use the PZ pre?

My alvarez has a passive pickup and it doesn't sound good at all by itself

I did something surprising last week: a small board I put quick together for rehearsals before getting all my stuff wired again in the big board. That proved to be noisy and fuzzy enough for many songs, though some songs clearly need their dedicated fx.

Besides I had to clean up the pedals and cables properly after the latest gig and the quick wiping, we used a soap bubble machine and it all the soap floated down around me and on me. Sticky and slippery and eww. Anyway, here's the small board:

Really nasty and noisy and a good deal of weirdness, too.

I'm considering building a plywood mini board for this set up and spare the room for it in the big board so I can take it on and off to home and back to rehearsals. That way I could leave most of my stuff to rehearsal place in the huge aluminum case and take it to home occasionally when I get a lift from a band member.

I have always wanted a detachable section of my bigger board
would you use Velcro or something else?

Yeah I guess I'll be using velcro if I don't come up with something smart and cheap - velcro is supposed to keep all the pedals in anyway so why not the detachable mini board, too. :)

Just the PZ Pre. It works great with my acoustic guitar also (which has one of the Fishman Rare Earth Humbucker soundhole pickups installed) on the 2nd input.

Mini board sounds practical enough, I wouldn't want to carry that big one of yours around using public transport.
