I've found it doesn't get any better over time. The first four episodes lull you into a false sense of security then they smack you over the head with ten tons of absurd backstory.

...but goddamn is it awesome.

does huffed mean tired? If so, then yes, sometimes chewing is too much effort.

I see it as one long piece that will never be topped.
Fun fact: during a darker time in my life I would watch FLCL at the end of every day as a type of motivation to clear my head and keep positive :thumb:

Yeah, that's why I can watch it compared to most other anime. It's so much less episodic and ties up nicely rather than being one never-ending-until-we-get-canceled adventure. Or at least that's how it often feels to moi.

FLCL is one of those things that I'll watch and gain some sense of existential fulfillment, not to mention the dialogue is so dense I'm sure there's plenty to pick out even after countless viewings.

This has been the story of me and any other rapper with a hipster following(i.e. Kanye, M.I.A., etc.). It still sounds like shit to me, but IMHO lyrics aren't really a part of music. Their auxiliary at best.

holy shit you guys.

i don't like kid cudi, but i'm not white. i have a lot of non-white friends who like him. my brother and some friends (all nonwhite) saw him when he came to cleveland. the show had a lot of non white people. in fact, considering the ratio of my white friends to my nonwhite friends who like cudi, i'd say i know more people of color who like him. although that's because most white people i know just don't like rap unless it's eminem :whateva:

however calling kanye a hipster rapper is fucking stupid and ignorant of the fact that he is kind of a big deal. just because you don't like something doesn't make it hipster! kanye is one of the most mainstream rappers ever, seriously, THE MOST.

so my recent anime obsession came after years of me not watching anime. on netflix i was bored and i was like eh fuck it, it says i should watch Elfen Lied. it was amazing, so now i'm basically filling up my free time with netflix anime. but what do i watch next? so far i've seen ( in order)
-Elfen Lied
-Claymore
-The Sacred Blacksmith
-Ga Rei:Zero
-Spice and Wolf

so what do i watch next? it recommends deathnote, high school of the dead and a bunch of others, but i guess i was wondering whats relevant and liked by the ILF community

I really liked Last Exile. It's one of those shows that doesn't require any previous anime viewing to enjoy or get any in-jokes. Like Cowboy Bebop. Or Samurai Champloo.
Also you need to watch the movies Dead Leaves and REDLINE.
There's so much more but I can't think of anything right now :erm:
