I might not be going to Bonnarroo this year. : /. I need to save the money, and I basically don't have anyone to go with.
Shitfuck.

Being stuck on Candlemass for the past week has made me kick myself for not getting tickets to Roadburn this year. They're playing Epicus Doomicus Metallicus as part of a 2 hour show. The rest of the line up isn't too bad either.

I'm doing a regression analysis of newspaper weekly coverage of negative middle-east events on weekly oil prices in the US. I was going through the New York Times archive and after maybe ten minutes, I get some bullshit about how I've had my 20 free articles this month. And similar things have been happening with every newspaper (Wall Street Journal among others). I really don't want to have to go to the library and look at micro-film for twenty hours for this, but it looks like it might come to that if I can't get past the goddamned online bullshit.

micro-film = the ultimate hipster periodical. Retro-vintage/ironically-viewed news media. Seriously I think once you pop on that tight, tight orange-brown sweater and get some wax into your ironic hipster mustache to clean up the handlebars, you'll be ready to take on any mainstream library goers(hobos who need a bathroom and the elderly?) cold stares all the while keeping firm that casual, haughty apathy and gripping your fair-trade, locally-owned coffee shop brewed latte(with soy milk of course!) in a fully recyclable cut that was made out of something retarded like old blue-jeans.
My only regret in life is not having listened to The Sweet sooner.

3:00 am wake up because dog barking at storm rolling in. G/F rolls over and makes it my problem. Sweaty sleep on leather couch for a few hours while making sure dog won't bark. Go back in to get five minutes of spoon time before I have to shower and slave my day is met with accusations of being intentionally loud.
Fuck thunder.

France banned the Muslim veil today because it stands against their "secular nation's sense of dignity of equality". The irony...so palpable.

I know there are a few designers in here. Does anyone else feel like the project managers waste hours of your day asking for status updates, input, or having you design things prior to having specifications (in reality forcing you to design the same thing at least twice)?

ms1012 wrote:work seriously drove me insane today. it all started at about 11, when this old motherfucker comes in and asks me if i had any fresh turkey breast (we make it at the store sometimes). i said "sir i'm sorry but we don't have it right now". he grunts because he's a thousand years old and walks away.
FAST FORWARD to 3 hours later, i'm about to go on break. HE FUCKING COMES BACK, holding a bag in his hand. he walks up to me and goes "are you the kid who apologized to me earlier????". yep, guilty. he opens the bag and shows me some turkey breast and says "joseph's market(our competitor) had it. they didn't have to apologize to me, because they always have what i need. maybe you should start sending your customers there, goodbye." motherfucker turns around and leaves. so let's analyze this. i didn't have food. so he drove 15 minutes to a place that had it. he then drove back to me JUST TO FUCKING BE RUDE FOR ME APOLOGIZING TO HIS GOOFY ASS. fuck old people man. not all of em, just the ones who have nothing better to do than shed their misery on the rest of society.
Im not sure if, put in that situation myself, i would have been able to avoid going to jail for wrapping his walker around his fucking head.

Thankfully, I have not experienced this yet, but that's probably because I work at a small, independently-owned and operated town newspaper
(I mostly do computer/website stuff, but I have been put to work on ad design..so yes I suppose you could say I'm a 'designer')

We must stick together!

huzzah and all that...

oh my god.
car drive with my little brother ended in me half-yelling "you did not just call the red hot chilli peppers funk. i'm going to drive the car further away from home then open the door and shove you out of it."
I KEEP TRYING TO EDUCATE HIM BUT THERE'S ONLY SO MUCH YOU CAN DO
